Is 'Manhunt 2' the Most Violent Video Game Ever?

Nov 2nd 2007 1:31AM (Switched)
It's a damn video game. Get over it. I'm tired of people coercing their stupid beliefs and morals on everyone.

Point is...I'm an adult. I should be able to play a video game that is SPECIFICALLY made for adults in all it's uncensored glory.

If kids are getting their hands on these games, blame the fucking parents.

I mean, are parents really that fucking stupid? The names of these games are a dead give away. "Manhunt" , "Grand Theft Auto" "Killzone" etc.

Parents should stop being parented by their kids and put their foot down before all forms of media are censored because of their carelessness.

You know what...actually games for mature audiences should be in a different area where ADULTS can access them and buy them.

If those actions need to be taken to prevent the original visions of the games creators from being compromised...then I am all for it.

To hell with censorship!

GDC director: PS3 owners will be "very happy" next week

I fail to comprehend why people are SO excited over Killzone 2 when the original was garbage and the reviews were mediocre???

"Halo killer?" That was a pretty hilarious statement. That game was almost as bad as Daikitana!

Go check out the reviews for yourselves. Or better yet, just play the first one, then you'll realize that the great "Killzone 2" has a WHOLE LOT of work to be done if it was ever to compete with Halo or any other fps.

Former GameCube developer calls early Wii graphics sloppy

Feb 9th 2007 11:43PM (Joystiq)
It sucks that the Wii can't even compete with the last generations most powerful console (xbox). The Wii compares to the least powerful console, the ps2. That IS pretty sloppy.

The only reason Nintendo opted to not go into "hi-def" was because they wanted to keep profiting on hardware from 2001.

The thing that baffles me is that, the current games with the exception of Zelda, can't even compete with gamecube games when the hardware is designed as a "gamcube on steroids."

When Nintendo gives me zomething other then Zelda, I'll be purchasing one (I think I'll wait for the black Wii's). I don't see any reason to buy one right now for just one game. Especially when that one game is available on a console from 2001.

Resistance padding files only 420MB per region [update 2]

Honestly who cares if a game is on 3 friggin discs? Get off your ass and change discs. No one complained when Final Fantasy 7 came out with 3 discs. Or when Metal Gear Solid came out on 2 discs, or when Resident Evil 4 was on 2 discs? I say that it's ridiculous to say "360 sucks because your gonna need to actually get up and change a disc which takes about 5 seconds to do." I say changing a disc is better then owning a Brickstation 3 *As Bill Gates hilariously dubbed the system) with no good games coming out till maybe next fall.

p.s. I used the controller at Target and I think it's trash.

Sony vs Nintendo in the motion sensitive arena

Oct 28th 2006 11:50PM (Joystiq)
It's true what a previous poster said. I think it was post number 25.

How come a controller that came out in like 1999 has tilt AND rumble and 7 years later Sony can't include rumble in their controller? It's b.s. that they say "it's so last gen." They are trying to believe their own lie. They ommited it because they would most likely had to pay Immersion for including rumble. It sounds stupid, but that is one of the reasons I don't want to get a PS3. I'm pretty sure they will eventually include rumble in their controller because a lot of people will be complaining (a lot of people have already started). Oh yeah and with 600 bucks, I could pay off a credit card.

Sony should just pay the damn fee and avoid the countless lawsuits. Microsoft did and I think Nintendo did (not sure if Nintendo infringed on Immersions patent though).

p.s. I remember reading comment from somebody in a forum that I can't remember at this time. It was hilarious. Something along the lines of "Sony should quit the electronics business and they should become a law firm."

Toys R Us: Buy 2 games, get 1 free [update 1]

Oct 22nd 2006 2:47PM (Joystiq)
I took advantage of this deal in 02 and 04. I didn't last year cuz I was saving for a 360. This year I'm hoping to get Marvel Ultimate Alliance, Splinter Cell, and the 3rd game I'm not sure what it's going to be. Saint's Row?

Oh yeah and you can buy cross platform if you want. In 04 I bought 2 xbox games and a ps2 game. San Andreas, DOA Ultimate and Burnout 3.

I've been waiting for this deal for a long time! Thanks ToyRus!

Immersion survey suggests Sony better get ready to rumble

Sep 26th 2006 3:15PM (Engadget)
Im actually one of those that won't be getting the system because of the lack of rumble and because of the price.

What's the point of buying 4 controllers if in the future I GUARANTEE you Sony will release a rumble enabled controller.

I won't be getting PS3 until a very long time if ever. I'll however be picking a Wii to sit along side my 360 this fall and winter.

Microsoft's 1080p lets you read the fine print

Sep 24th 2006 3:27PM (Joystiq)
I bought a Sony 42 inch lcd rear projection tv last November. It has hdmi, component and vga. I play my 360 using the component cables. I tried discerning a visual difference between running games at 1080i and 720p. I think I noticed that 1080i wasn't as smooth as playing at 720p. Like when I played Call Of Duty 2 on 720p, it seemed more fluid. It could just be me though. I just leave my setting at 720p because my televisions native resolution is 1280x720 therefore there is no reson for me to play at 1080i (or 1920x1080) if my television will only scale it back to it's native resolution. Playing at your tv's native resolution provides a smoother picture because your tv doesn't have to do any scaling. (duh! haha)

The announcement about the 360 supporting 1080p is kool, but it means nothing to me until I get a newer tv that supports 1080p. The big deal about the new 1080p tv's is that their native resolution is 1920x1080 so it will display 1080i and 1080p in its full resolution without any down or upscaling. Hence the name "True HD."

Question, is there a difference between running games using Component or VGA on the 360?

Oh and about the HD-DVD movies, they are ALL mastered at 1080p in addition to 720p and 1080i. The first generation HD-DVD players do not support 1080p however. Once the newer players are released (or you buy the HD-DVD add on for the 360) all the movies you bought on HD-DVD will be able to be displayed at 1080p. I think someone made a comment about HD-DVD movies only doing 1080i earlier.
