Broken Steel DLC makes Fallout 3 endless on May 5

Apr 21st 2009 6:35PM (Joystiq)
No, mainly because the ending of Fallout 3 doesn't strand the main character in the middle of the void. You're also comparing two completely different genres: while one is a directed experience, the other is a place for the player to inhabit. Halo was linear, and adding more campaign content would feel 'tacked on'. Raising the (moronic) level cap and giving the world of Fallout 3 a greater lease of life with the ability to see the main plot out to its conclusion, while also adding more things to do in the world itself, is a necessary addition which only enriches the experience rather than cheapening it.

Microsoft hooks up Xbox Live subs with free Arcade title

Jan 4th 2008 11:50AM (Engadget)
"I would like to take this moment to thank you each and every one of you for your patience and understanding..."

That's a lot more than about 90% of the XBL community deserves given the unbelievable amount of bitching and moaning that heralded the outages. The phrases 'boycott live' and "I'm switching to the PS3 instead of all this $H*T,' were bandied about with ebullient vigour.

Shadowrun reviews bother FASA

Jun 25th 2007 2:45PM (Joystiq Xbox)
Reviews need to be objective; they need to assess what the game sets out to do, and how well it does it. Reviews should take value for money into account to some extent, BUT, 95% of the review should be based on the game's content. In the case of Shadowrun, many of the reviews have rated it on what users want it to be, rather than what it is, which is an attitude which defeats the point of the review, as you end up reviewing how well the game matches your own personal vision of it, making it ore of a comparison than review.

Update brick your 360? Speak up [update 1]

Nov 1st 2006 2:01PM (Joystiq Xbox)
I've noticed that the intro animation (with the flying, spherical 360 logo) is no longer in sync with the 'Ring of Light' flash cycle at boot (when the 4 LED lights light up in sequence).

Anyone else experiencing this?
