Apple iPad Dock Connector to VGA Adapter not accomplishing the simplest of tasks

Apr 26th 2010 6:57PM (Engadget)
@abrognlie
Unfortuntely, it just means that Apple is doing it less wrong than their competitors.

People DO vote with their wallets, and they consistently vote for snazzy marketing, superficially fancy products, and membership to the exclusive club of Smug Apple Product Owners. Apple has a winning formula.

Stats: iPhone OS is still king of the mobile web space, but Android is nipping at its heels

@Dellibedaboss

I was just surprised that, with only one or two webOS phones out during this time period, Palm managed to rack up more traffic than the plethora of Winmo phones. Perhaps the few webOS users out there (myself included) are really gobbling up the interwebz on our phones compared to most people.

Apple iPad first hands-on! (update: video!)

@Kento

The sad thing is, it's also not meant for serious PLAY either. Some games shoe-horned into a touch interface, some finger painting, too big to be a dedicated music player, maybe a portable video player? But you're stuck with the iTunes ecosystem.

What the heck IS this made for? Just a moderate bit of this and that? I have a hard time identifying it's niche.

Palm Pixi clears FCC with Verizon frequencies and WiFi in tow

@DaveBach
I'm with you. It would take a lot to persuade me to give up my $45/month unlimited everything plan for the Pixi on Sprint. And coverage/speed in my area is great. I haven't missed WiFi yet.

I AM pretty bummed that the Pixi still feels sluggish, even after the recent update. Maybe Verizon's version will include a beefier processor? In which case the battery would last until lunch...

iPhone version of Audiosurf put 'on hold' due to music library restrictions

Nov 13th 2009 1:56AM (Joystiq)
Controls seem to be tilt only, but sensitivity is adjustable. It works really well, actually, and is very responsive. You won't miss having buttons on this one; controls are tight.

The game as a whole is...interesting. Not as much fun or as impressive as the new racing game, but I had a good time with it on the bus this morning. Plus, I re-discovered some music that I already had and I heard it in a whole new way. Audiosurf makes you appreciate how a some songs go through big changes in tempo and mood.

Oh, and it's free.

AT&T adds Verizon's Island of Misfit Toys holiday ads to lawsuit, demands they be yanked off the air

I like that the words "adds" and "ads" were both used correctly in one title. Thank you for that.

Audiosurf, PGR and other games added to Zune HD with latest update

Nov 11th 2009 3:12PM (Joystiq)
I rarely notice the ads. I click on the game and expect it to take a moment to load, so I tend to look somewhere else for a moment. When I look back down, the game has loaded.

Granted, on the Zune, that "moment" is longer than I'd like it to be. Why the heck is that anyway? It's pretty snappy when processing everything else; why can't it load my games quickly and then hop back to the home screen without everything going blank for a couple of seconds?

Zune HD 3D games video hands-on

This is why I need to keep a sync cable at work.

Zune HD Marketplace now loaded with free 3D games

Damnit. Left my sync cord at home!
