Vita 'UMD Passport' won't be offered in US

PSA: PSN accounts changing to Sony Entertainment Network accounts Feb. 8
Feb 4th 2012 9:14PM (Joystiq)But none of it is as easy as saying "what's your Gamertag?" I don't own a [working] 360 anymore (and play online games almost never), but I still appreciate the simplicity of how to ask for someone's fake name on that system. It's damn near elegant.

Jan 29th 2012 6:05AM (Joystiq)Also, people complaining about the battle system playing itself are insane. The auto function does whatever inflicts damage, meaning battles take way longer to finish (or will fail utterly) without player control. Just because you can get away with something most of the time doesn't make it the default way of doing things.

PS Vita 3G purchases include free data, 8GB memory card at Amazon
Jan 27th 2012 2:49PM (Joystiq)In order to get the free game, these are the steps:
"1. Select and sign up for an AT&T DataConnect Pass plan.
2. Login to your PlayStation Network account on your PS Vita.
3. 30 days after your DataConnect Pass activation, you will receive a game voucher code redeemable on the PlayStation Store."
So with a $30 card and a $40-50 game, it ends up cheaper than a wifi-only Vita. That seems pretty awesome to me, so I'll bite and pre-order next week (was waiting until some oddly nice deal like this came along).

So basically it's a free game with seemingly no limitations as to price or product, but you have to wait 30 days after you activate the 3G pass. I'm betting that AT&T is footing the bill and hopes to either addict people to 3G or get enough accidental renewals to make up the cost and then some.
To me, that seems absolutely worth it. If I can get a free $40-50 Vita launch game and an 8GB card that's normally $30, I'm pre-order next week and await my hot new hand held. That I will play at home in bed, obviously.
FFXIII's Lightning being added to XIII-2 in DLC, trailer highlights game variety
Jan 26th 2012 3:48AM (Joystiq)Okay, maybe "cliche-loving Eastern audience" is a bit harsh, but they are certainly FAR more accepting of that stuff that Western gamers and game critics are anymore.

Jan 26th 2012 3:45AM (Joystiq)Gimme some Sazh DLC that includes quest line featuring him as the main star and I'll throw money at you, Square. But Lightning? Eff that trash.
