New Super Meat Boy hub world, level editor and portal coming next month

Dec 24th 2010 7:03PM (Joystiq)
@Magnalon

Ok. I just read that post on their blog again. They do indeed mention that they've submitted it to Microsoft for certification. Must've slipped my mind since I've first read that post.

Then there's only one thing to say: Get off your lazy ass, Microsoft and certify the crap out of that update!

New Super Meat Boy hub world, level editor and portal coming next month

@sonicspike41

That's certainly not my impression. There's still no patch for the XBLA version even though it should have been out since 21 Nov according to Team Meat. The question is: What's the reason? Have they even submitted the patch to Microsoft or is it still stuck in certification for whatever reason? By now I would be perfectly fine with any information on the matter.

Don't get me wrong. I love the game to death and fully understand that Team Meat consists of only two people. But I refuse to continue playing the game with the save bug still present. I've lost progress on entire worlds due to that bug and find the workaround pretty annoying.

Harmonix dev tackles Rock Band 'euro pricing flamefest'

Apr 12th 2008 11:17AM (Joystiq)
I'm used to pay 70€ for games that only cost (using today's exchange rate) 44€ in NA. I perfectly understand that things like localisation and higher transportation costs also factor into the pricing of a game in Europe. Though I'm not exactly ok with the usually higher prices I can at least follow the reasoning behind these decisions.

But this? Are they fucking kidding me? The price of Rock Band in Europe with tax is 240€. Taking the 18% tax they mentioned as a base, the net price is 203€. Compared to the 170$ (108€) they are charging for the game in NA, this results in increased revenue of 88% per unit. So tax is out as a reason for this price setting. Even with possibly higher costs for localisation, transportation and licensing they can't explain such an increase in price over the NA price. So the only viable explanation is their greed.

"But it's not magically going to get cheaper because you wish it to be so." - But my money won't be magically leaving my wallet because YOU wish it to be so.

Rock Band DLC for March revealed in OXM ad

Feb 3rd 2008 7:26PM (Joystiq)
The songs for Rock Band are really coming together niceley. But how's "Blinded by fear" supposed to work with the Rock Band drums? There's quite a few double bass parts in that song. Does the Rock Band drumset have a second pedal (haven't bought the game yet)?

Oops: Euro Katamari demo for Xbox Live Silver members only

Just tried to download the demo but they already "fixed" the issue. This sure as hell wasn't supposed to happen.

Portal 'First Slice' extended demo free for NVIDIA customers only

Jan 10th 2008 12:04PM (Joystiq)
First the Germany-only demo of Team Fortress 2, now a "demo" of Portal exclusive to users of nVidia cards. Valve sure has been doing odd things in the recent weeks. Though I am living in Germany and only have nVidia cards, I ask myself why Valve can't just release demos for everyone. Exactly that is long overdue...
