I've never played Call of Duty in my life, so don't think I'm defending the series. But it's very clear, based only on the numbers, that you're in the minority.

There seems to be plenty of people more than happy with the series as is. In fact, each iteration seems to be even better than the last, if sales are to be believed.

If you don't like it anymore, then move on. There's so many similar games out there, there must be something out there that you like. Otherwise, COD4 remains an option, does it not?
