Nintendo never launched a console in the Philippines. Heck, nobody ever did. When original games go for $40 - $70, you know that people would rather go for cheap.

The funny thing is pirated DS games are usually less than $10 cheaper than originals. Original GBA games are almost non-existent and your average consumer doesn't even know that they are/were buying pirated games. Pirated PS2 games could go as low as $2.

Unless there's substantial support for the surprisingly burgeoning videogame industry in the country, there is little that can be done to curb piracy.

Geez, you people cry as if porting WoW to the consoles will erase the game you installed in your PC.

I'm not totally sold with the idea. Console players might be at a disadvantage when it comes to the competitive aspects of WoW such as PVP. If they can somehow make the UI just as accessible for a console, why not?

I would think all the peeps who wanted to play the game here in the Philippines have played the game already, considering the current availability at local stores.

A majority of online games available in the country have freely-distributed clients and the most expensive monthly subscription rates are half of that of WoW. AMDG has a lot of work to do. I won't be surprised if this doesn't push through at all.

And I have read this news since early last year. So meh.

I'm going for Wii60 as well. I was originally gunning for PSWii, but Sony has been a total turnoff.
