what? its a zelda game.. they never sell as much as mario games.

@Roxas560: key word, yearly. There have never been more than 3 mario games (main mario games that is) on a console in any generation.. yet there are already going to be 5 assassins creeds on one console in this generation alone. there have been as many call of duty games in its less than 10 years of existence as there have been zelda games in its 25 year existence. get it?

i do think nintendo is putting mario games out more frequently (i'm not sure we needed two 3d marios and a 2d mario in one generation for the same console, but there were 3 on the nes so...), but its nothing like cod.

by the time those franchises you mentioned are as old as these two, they might have over 100 titles out.

@Faceless Troll at this point, i've downloaded more games from the eshop than i have purchased retail (VVVVV, Mutant Mudds, Mighty Switch Force, Pushmo, and because i didnt have a DSi - Shantae - Risky's Revenge and Dark Void Zero).

yeah.. i was randomly looking at prices for a couple of games on gamestop.com tuesday at work.. and i came across rayman and deus ex for some good prices.. so i went there right after work. im really digging rayman and cant wait to get to deus ex (finally).

I saw this this morning when I got on the 360 to play a little 2k12.. Picked up Bastion and Renegade Ops and will be picking up BloodRayne and ITSP next.

I wonder what other deals will be featured..

the beat em up has been my favorite genre since streets of rage 2.. as a kid, magazines would exchange brawler and beat em up all the time.. ive heard brawler and even beat em up used for fighting games before, i mean the genres are very closely related (final fight was initially created as a sequel to street fighter)...

theres a better example.. they specifically mention final fight and streets of rage in the article.. ive read other previews and descriptions of the game that refer to it as a brawler/beat em up as well.. also, ive heard fighting games referred to as brawlers long before smash bros and power stone existed. ive read articles that called street fighter II a brawler.. but generally, its a term used to decsribe beat em ups.

i dont want anything changed about one vs one or two vs two fighters (and i definitely dont see how this game could be any kind of a challenge to that genre).. i just want 'brawlers' to be brought back in a major way.

brawler is always being thrown around when this game is mentioned, but nothing ive seen makes it look like a brawler.. its looks more like powerstone than a 3d streets of rage.

im so glad they decided to include the US soundtrack.. i prefer that one.

@siteuntitled sega still makes good games, the problem is that they hardly make games anymore... since going third party, theyve truly become a publisher and rely on too many other developers... which is why i dont want nintendo going that route either.

if you think about it, valkyria chronicles, virtua fighter, yakuza, and (recently) sonic have been good games. besides those, most of sega's games have been tie-ins and random games by terrible developers. the only good move theyve made as a publisher was partnering with platinum games.

my main point here though is that going third party means you dont have to come up with a portfolio of exclusive games to lure consumers to your camp. when you can make a mediocre game and release it across 7 platforms, you dont have to try nearly as hard... and thats the problem with the current sega.
