And yeah, the whole issue could be dealt with a multitude of ways, the end result all being the same -> that you don't own the minutes in the end, you're just renting them, etc.

Jan 3rd 2010 4:36PM (Engadget)All this is going to do is drive calling card prices UP, as a significant percent of their profit comes from these unused minutes. So in the end, AT&T drives prices up, while the government gets more money, and who gets screwed? The customer, of course.

Dec 28th 2009 4:33PM (Engadget)Wait, is iPhone performance actually bad in New York City? I have one (3G) and I never seem to have problems. Once in a while the 3G fails, but for less than a minute, always, and my calls never get dropped. This is across two 3G phones (dropped my first, the screen broke, and Apple replaced it (for free)).
