@incognit000: It was a bug, and they fixed it. I also got a copy while it was free.

It happens every so often, and I don't think I've ever heard of them recalling a license, so count it as good fortune.

@FuriousMailman: Only if it's fixable. Which it's probably not. Throwing good money after bad is actually pretty stupid.

@FuriousMailman: The "smart move" would have been to design the game so it didn't suck to begin with. What we have now is a company that's trying to figure out how to salvage a massive investment that's going down the tubes - aka, damage control. Speaking as a software engineer AND an MBA, their chances of doing this are slim at best.

@AceManUSC: That was my question, too. The CE of DA:O was pretty sweet - I'm a complete sucker for a good Steelbook-style case.

Of course, Fable 3 was just over the top... I hadn't really examined the pictures of the CE of that, and was a little surprised when a rather large package got put into my hands.

When LOTRO went free to play, I introduced my spouse to it. She liked it enough that she actually subscribed... and so did I, because she needs her tank. So, really, I do think this hybrid model has some advantages.

(Lowering the subscription cost to $10 a month didn't hurt, either.)

That's a good deal for $30. Some of those games were amazing.

@Monkey D Luffy: Harder to read all the text on the screen. Disgaea, if nothing else, has lots of numbers.

They totally need to release the "definitive" versions of Disgaea 1 and Disgaea 2 in a collection on the PS3. I'd buy it in a second.

How is DS3 usage weird? You hook up your PSP Go to your TV via component, and you play it with your DS3. It actually works pretty nicely, from what I understand.

@TVGenius: Think of this thing less as a DVR, and more as Slingbox with recording capabilities.
