Iwata's Quest: help sell Dragon Quest IX

Dec 13th 2008 5:20AM (Joystiq Nintendo)
That's cool and all, but maybe Nintendo should focus on marketing they're own titles. (Not "bridge" titles such as Wii Fit. They do fine with those.)

Pikmin just got a little more perfect

Dec 13th 2008 2:29AM (Joystiq Nintendo)
Man, I'm SO torn between getting this, and getting the original Pikmin! I really, seriously love the GameCube, and it would feel like such a dishonor to never play/own it for GameCube. I've never played it before so... I can't decide!!! Any advice???

I'm not sure why I didn't mind getting RE4 on Wii... oh, that's right, it had way more content the the GC version, and it wasn't really exclusive to GC anyway... And the controls were almost necessary to upgrade. I don't know, maybe I'll get Pikmin for Cube AND Wii, HA! Not.

Klonoa: Door to Awesome Video

Yes, there is that option, it's already been covered a few posts earlier... however, no one can be certain how bad they'll muck up the U.S. version. It will probably only have crappy English dialogue! HA! (better not)

Klonoa: Door to Awesome Video

I think it looks FRICKIN awesome! I'm so down with this title. I'm a 24 year old dude, so why is it that I tend to like the cuter stuff? Aren't all American guys supposed to like stuff like Gears of War? *walks away shaking head in confusion*

XSEED drawing Muramasa: The Demon Blade this summer?

Dec 13th 2008 1:53AM (Joystiq Nintendo)
Man, this is probably my most anticipated title... well, one of them. I really hope it isn't just running from one screen to the next fighting a group of guys, and then moving on.

I was under the impression that there was a demo that made it seem that way, but it will really flow a lot better. I hope so. Also, the demo moves rapidly from one environment to the next, but that was just to show off some variety in a short demo, so I think there may be longer levels like a traditional platformer...

Tatsunoko vs. Capcom available to importers early

Dec 13th 2008 1:43AM (Joystiq Nintendo)
Is there any way to soft-mod the Wii withOUT the Wii version of TP? I had it, but I much prefer the GameCube version, so I sold it a long time ago. I really, REALLY don't want to have to buy Twilight Princess Wii again, and just for doing hacks. I don't suppose I could just get whatever save file you need from the internet?? Probably need to actually boot up the game huh?

Oh well, I guess I won't be doing any homebrew/importing... which sucks cause I also want Drum Master or whatever...

Infinite items: 5th Cell's Scribblenauts

HAHA, Platypus was one of the first things I thought of too!

First, I agree that people should read the freakin' interview before asking dumb questions, and second...

This is still going to be an awesomely fun game even IF the list of words isn't quite as all encompassing as you imagine. Just playing around with what's there. At first I thought you just wrote stuff and the puzzle was either solved or not, but the second viewing, I realize no, this is an action puzzler in the truest sense, as you can still control your character directly. As for the puzzle difficulty I'm sure their will be more than a handful of really tricky ones. They've got a long chunk of development ahead of them. It's going to be GOOD. Buy it!

Now excuse me, I'm off to see if Wild Metal for Dreamcast works, or if I have to send the disc back.

Wii Warm Up: GC vs CC

Dec 2nd 2008 11:47PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
I personally think the Wavebird will never be topped, although I will admit it's D pad leaves something to be desired. Mainly just the position.

The Classic is OK, but I just really don't like having something dangling from the end of my controller. A better option, and one that doesn't suck batteries, is to just get a real SNES controller, and a SNES to Wii/Cube adapter port. A bit pricey, but about as much as the CC. (I'm still working on getting one, as well as NES adapter.) I think being wired in is worth it for a perfect controller experience. Plus you can always get those Gamecube extension cables. Go here: http://www.retrousb.com/index.php?categoryID=80

Sigh... if only they allowed support for the Gamecube controller ports to control the Wii Menu.

K... maybe this IS actually the 360 version. I really don't know.

Snoopy swoops to Wii

Wow, no technical slouch is right! This game looks... dare I say... gorgeous! What the heck? Is it just me? Have my expectations been driven into the ground from all the crap Wii titles? This game had me wondering if it might be 360 footage. I had to look hard to find some slightly blurry textures, or a "polygony" landscape, just to verify that it was in fact Wii footage. And at 60 frames per second? VERY few games have maintained this kind of quality with that framrate, and there mostly 1st party.

Plus the game just looks sorta fun and exciting... hope it's good, I'll be watching it.
