Prisoner gets 40 more years for cellphone possession
May 1st 2006 11:21PM (Engadget Mobile)Wii conspiracy theories. (They're really, really sad.)
Apr 29th 2006 1:41AM (Joystiq)"There's no such thing as bad publicity" is true in some cases, but definatly not all. Bill O'Reily definatly didn't get any more viewers when he was talking about feeling up that woman with a falafel; but I'll admit watching things I wouldn't normally watch when there's some controversy. Like a damned media whore, I know, but its true.
So, yeah, Nintendo is getting alot of attention for this. Its an unexpected move in a previously hard-core, (homophobic?) male-centric market, and Nintendo wants to turn some heads, which they've obviously done.
Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection via Dial-up
Feb 20th 2006 6:11PM (Joystiq Nintendo)When I do lag, the game remains entirely playable; with no drop in frame rate and only the opponent's karts are "stuttering". Barring weapons, the laggy race is entirely the same.
Furthermore, the vast majority of weapons are lag-agnostic. Red shells, blue shells, bombs, bullet bills, and bananas. When green shells come into play, I have to compensate for lag, but it seems to come rather easily. Yes, I realize my opponents have to take such measures against me, too, but they get the same lag-agnostic weapons that I do; and they probably know when I'm lagging anyway, so they should be using lag-compensated aiming against me. Its only one weapon, anyway.
Using 56k doesn't make my game any less pleasurable, it doesn't make your game any less pleasurable, and it certainly doesn't give me an advantage. So who would you rather race?
I swear, bigotry against 56k gets worse and worse every year...
Surface: Episode 13
Jan 23rd 2006 10:39PM (AOL TV)On one hand, I don't see how they can wrap the story up nicely in two hours, especially with all three characters not having met up. On the other, its a pretty high-budget show, and the way they refer to episodes by number as opposed to some sort of title always suggested "miniseries" to me. Does Surface even have the ratings to go on?
Meh. Time to stop thinking and start enjoying the ride, I guess.
Do you watch these shows?
