Mainstream media chatter about Grand Theft Auto IV

Apr 29th 2008 4:31PM (Joystiq)
I was suprised because CBS's morning show had a feature about the game that was relatively fair. Yeah, it talked about the controversy (but that's legitimate since the controversy is there), but it also featured people talking about the merits of the game.

GTA IV drops at midnight ... what are your plans?

My plans? Take an Antitrust and Trade Regulation final and then study for Securities Regulation and Corporate Taxation. Why do they always release games right at finals time?

January NPD: PS3 and PS2 top 360, everyone down for the month

Feb 15th 2008 1:37PM (Joystiq)
I know I bought a PS3 last month because I couldn't find a premium Xbox 360 in any stores. I figured both cost about the same (once you figure in Xbox live) and most games I want to play are on both systems, so in the end I decided to buy the one that was available.

Microsoft acknowledges Xbox 360 shortages in US

What are you talking about? My local Best Buy has had about 40 Arcade units in stock for the last month and a half.

Of course, if you want to find any other 360s, you'll be out luck. That's why I'm now the proud owner of a PS3 now. I had no problem finding one of those!

Wal-Mart 'ends' $20 Smash Bros. Brawl pre-orders [update]

Jan 18th 2008 3:54PM (Joystiq)
Why are people so offended by the e-mail Wal-Mart is sending? I'm sure the moment any order gets canceled, regardless of whether it is on the customer or seller side, they just automatically send out the same form e-mail. Because most of the time cancellations are probably initiated by customers, the e-mail is written for such cancellations. It might be bad customer service to send a form e-mail that's inaccurate, but I highly doubt Wal-Mart is trying to pull a fast one on you. "Oh, the e-mail said I canceled the order. It must be right, because why would an e-mail contain inaccurate information?"
