How do you say, "meaningless" in Japanese? Amazon lists are worthless for gauging overall popularity. All 13,000 360 owners in Japan will buy Eternal Sonata on launch day and then they will never sell another copy.

There were 300 comments in the post about the graphics in the Forza 2 demo, yet you could cut your arm on the jaggies in these screens. I guess it's all a matter of expectations.

How many copies of this game do they expect to sell in September? They should just scrap it and shift the work to EndWar or some other game like THQ is doing with Saint's Row.

Despite what we geeks may think, THE MARKET is saying that the 360's main competition is the Wii, PS2 and the DS. $400 is much greater than $250 in the eyes of the typical consumer (Mom). MS needs the casuals to get from 12M to 50M+ sold. They need to lower the price now.

They could probably keep the fee for Live, since people can readily see the value they are getting value for their money and it is "optional".

So far, so good on the Catan "culture". In no way, shape or form could this one game make a dent in the whole Xbox Live racist/machismo thing; there aren't that many people playing it. But every game that I've managed to connect to has included people who were at least helpful to a newcomer, if not friendly. It would take a dozen games like this to turn the tide in the other direction.
