Hey Bungie, include open chat in Halo 3!
Jun 11th 2007 3:20PM (Joystiq Xbox)By having the closed mic, it freed up bandwidth and allowed the voice to actually work when you talked. I remember quite a few original Xbox games that had horrible open mic voice chat, Battlefront, Brothers in Arms, etc...
We have seen with the 360 that the audio seems to work fine now (although Battlefield Modern Combat had horrible voice chat, but I blame EA and their servers) I would think having options would be the best idea.
i think a good option would be push down on the D-pad = mic open
Push Up = Walkie Talkie mode

New DIRT pre-order goodies revealed
Jun 4th 2007 2:14PM (Joystiq Xbox)We were REALLY looking forward to Dirt and the online possibilities it would bring to the table. I then read an article on how incredibly LAME the multiplayer will be!
Basically, it's you alone on the track racing against other peoples time. Wow, thats fun! So it's just you and your buggy alone on a dirt track. No bumping, no crashing, no fun, no thanks!

Fancast: Got a question for Major Nelson?
Mar 28th 2007 4:51PM (Joystiq Xbox)Why not give me the option of just setting up a chat room fron the dashboard?
Also, I listen to games and voices via headphones. The problem is that even if I turn most games volume down to 1, it can still be hard to hear peoples voices. Can they up the gain on the voice volume when playing through the speakers? (I have it at maximum now)
Thank You!

Epic demands: quit making Gears dolls
Mar 9th 2007 5:46PM (Joystiq Xbox)The Star Wars Franchise has no problem with people making fan films, using their characters and overall promoting their product (without making any $$ for themselves) yet epic jumps on this guy like the music industry.
The doll is a cool work of fan art. You see this kind of stuff everywhere for movies, tv shows, etc...
If Epic starts alienating these fans, they will be killing themselves.
