@cool8man Flash and Silverlight are standards? Get a clue... Just because something is used by the majority of the people, it doesn't make it a standard. Flash and Silverlight are proprietary technologies owned by Adobe and Microsoft, respectively. The Web should be open and no company should have control of a specific technology. Apple isn't trying to control anything Web-related, they're trying to make the Web a fair ground. Regarding the iPhone, Apple has the right to keep buggy, inefficient code out of their platform and I, for one, am glad they're doing it. There are enough useless apps as it is. If the flood gates were to be opened for Flash developers, the AppStore would soon be exactly like the cluttered, zero quality-control marketplace that is the Android Market.
@Jimbojones Both. I both love AND need a Mac for work (Final Cut Pro). Macs were never about the hardware. They were always about how the hardware and software are made to work together to ensure maximum performance. Don't get me wrong, I love Windows. Was a "power user" for 13+ years, but Macs just allow me to do so much without having to worry about counterproductive stuff. And in a fast-paced industry, that's priceless.
@jd101506 1) You may have outdated drivers. My Bootcamp partition runs Windows better than my fairly-specced PC. 2) Not true. Steam will have a good quantity of games on launch day and they won't be Valve-only. More will follow.
@dhgroove But why do people think Apple's prices HAVE to be the same as PC prices? They don't. If you think it's not worth the money, just don't buy it.
@zandman911 Another comment from a person who never used a Mac. Go play with your fairly-priced PoS and let us yuppies and fanboys drool over the overpriced PoS that Apple will be releasing soon.
