Even though you're right about Squeenix being tight-fisted misers, it says on the Monsters page that two runners-up will win vanilla copies of the game.

I have a Deep Red PSP and a Cinnabar Red PS2.

I have resisted the urge to import a Red DS from Europe so far (it helps that I don't know of any Euro -> US import shops, and already own a DS) but my resolve is crumbling under the weight of my red-lust.

I downloaded the Mother 3 translation. And I would buy Mother 3 DS if it was released here.

But Nintendo will not ask Brownie Brown to create a Mother 3 DS. Even if they did, the game would not come to North America or Europe.

The ball may be in Nintendo's court -- but like every other time the Mother/Earthbound series comes up, they're going to pick it up, put it in their pocket, and go home.

Mana-Khemia's hook is that you need to synthesize and equip better items to increase your strength instead of the typical "fight, xp get, lvl up" chain most RPGs have. (Even the regular Atelier Iris series.)
