Win Wii Points in Heavy Fire: Special Operations

Talk about great results from $20 in marketing!

Not that there's anything wrong with that, but crap why don't more companies do this?

Nintendo: Replenishing Wii supply will be a 'challenge'

Feb 11th 2010 4:41PM (Joystiq)
I work in the EMS/OEM electronics business and there are parts and equipment shortages across the board. During the height of last years recession all the parts manufacturers (e.g. resistors, Ic's, memory flash, etc) and even the material manufacturers (i.e. copper, plastic, etc.) slowed their production way the fvck down. They laid off shifts and even moth balled some factories.
Now that demand is picking up all over the electronics world everyone is having a hard time buying parts. Lead times are going up for everyone. It takes a lot longer to increase production.

Review: Silent Hill: Shattered Memories

Dec 9th 2009 10:11PM (Joystiq)
I really like the game so far. The flashlight, the controls and camera system are excellent and the cellphone idea is IMHO revolutionary and implemented perfectly. It's so natural. The gameplay so far is pretty good, though the puzzles are really too simple. The 'throw off the baddies' controls do suck though.

It's spooky and creepy, I don't know if I'd call it scary, but really outside of Thief 3's Cradle level who's ever been scared from a video game?

I never played SH1 or SH2, I played SH3 on a PC and really hated the controls, cameras, etc. I got so frustrated and never got very far. I also tried SH4, and that was just crap. So maybe I don't get the 'OMG they ruined SH' that makes some people react so negatively to the game.

I bought the game, though if I had time to sit and play it all in 1 or 2 sessions it might make a better rental. I don't see how it will have a lot of replay.

What part of "Product vision; actual functions and features may vary" don't you understand? I half expected them to be playing Duke Nukem Forever at the same time.

Vudu price slashed to keep up with Apple TV

Jan 24th 2008 10:21PM (Engadget HD)
Disclaimer; I don't own an AppleTv nor a Vudu. Honestly I think both have a major flaw: Why am I paying Apple/Vudu $300 for the privilege of ONLY renting movies from them on a broadband connection I pay for? I don't buy my Blockbuster only DVD player from Blockbuster to watch Blockbuster DVDs. Nor do I have to worry about sharing them with my friend who owns a Netflix DVD player.

Am I missing something? I own an iPod, I want an iPhone but why don't I want a Vudu/AppleTv?
