Mega Bloks wants fans to channel their inner Thrall

Feb 24th 2012 1:22PM (WoW)
@Zapwidget

Actually, if you'd been paying attention to the New York Toy Fair, you'd have seen that both DC and Marvel LEGO sets are incoming, alongside LotR and others.

Which means compatible DC and Marvel sets.

Agreed. Could you imagine supplementing your Castle, Dwarves, and Viking sets with some WoW sets? Guess we'll just have to resort to custom stickers for minifigs and the upcoming LotR sets for some more variety.

MegaBloks are also poorly engineered.

LEGO sets are LEGO first, so they are compatible with ALL other LEGO sets. The purpose of LEGO is to allow you to create any scene, creature, building, or whatever you want. Which largely means reducing the number of "unique" bricks, to keep the system both compatible and accessible. LEGO bricks are also very tightly engineered within very specific guidelines, so every 1x1 brick is EXACTLY the dimensions of every other 1x1 brick, so they properly connect every time. They also grip tightly.

I have a few Halo MegaBloks sets, and they are, quite simply, crap. The sets could be relatively easily remade using standard LEGO bricks, but instead use custom-built bricks for the sets, which fall apart easily rather than holding together for repeated use.

I suppose it was too much to ask that any of the comments (with the exception of two) would have anything to do with discussing the actual article or the information it contained, instead of a bunch of dismissive comments because the researcher chose the most popular MMO to study (a choice that would be obvious, if only for the potential sample that could be drawn). There's a reason I don't visit Massively or Joystiq anymore, and it's largely because of the community.

I was under the distinct impression that Hawthorne was killed by his (rather creepy) underling, who thought he was far too soft on the Tauren. Particularly after a lot of foreshadowed gloating on the man's part, and his exceptional interest in his superior officer's plans for transport. Whether he was in league with a few Horde (using them or collaborating), or did it on his own, I'm not certain, but betrayal definitely seems to have been on the menu.

What about the Cenarion Expidition and the Cenarion War Hippogryph? Sure, it's a single mount, but a cool one!
