Cthulhu Saves the World bundle drives 100K insane on Steam

Nov 23rd 2011 5:14PM (Joystiq)
iOS version please please please please! These games would be so very perfect for the subway!

The 10 best Xbox exclusives (no spartans allowed)

Nov 17th 2011 9:15AM (Joystiq)
Good choices! Otogi was beautiful, and the Buffy game was surprisingly solid. But let me put in a word for DEATHROW! That game never got much critical love, but god I had a great time playing it. I always substituted the regular music for At The Drive-In, which made the experience all the more aggro!

Pac-Man Fever infects Rock Band Network today

@djnforce9 : I had exactly the same thought! Fond memories of "Going Berzerk"...

Amazon offering Atlus catalog sale today

Apr 18th 2011 12:12PM (Joystiq)
Wasn't Trauma Team $12 before the sale started? 'Cause they're now selling it for $14, which seems... odd.

Dead Rising 2: Off the Record puts Frank West in Chuck Greene's shoes

Hmm----so is the photography system back? If it is, then I'll finally buy Dead Rising 2!

3DS Power Pak + review: a battery of tests

Apr 1st 2011 11:29AM (Joystiq)
@Theneverendingsoda The idea that Nintendo has deliberately crippled battery life so they could see more 3DSv2's is just so, so silly. Battery tech is really hard---their upper limit is a matter of chemistry, so no one's made a big improvement in a while. And a 3DS pretty much has to consume a lot more power, both because of the always-searching wireless and the need to draw each image twice.

Zynga: Xbox Live 'too small a demographic'

The *fewer* people on a platform, dammit! Not "the less people"!

Ms. Splosion Man gameplay footage & screens are awfully frantic

Mar 1st 2011 11:10PM (Joystiq)
No, no, no, no...

Part of 'Splosion Man's charm was his gleeful gibbering! Gleeful gibbering never gets old, while one-liners get old really, really fast. Please, Twisted Pixel, stop before it's too late!

The Gunstringer branded an Xbox Live Arcade title on Xbox.com

Feb 16th 2011 11:36PM (Joystiq)
Such a good idea! Kinect games tend to be casual-friendly, which makes them way more appealing at the price of an XBL game. Plus it's far less investment for the developer! The only downside is that casual gamers are much less aware of XBL games, but hopefully proper publicity can solve that.

Bit. Trip Flux trailer will delight and frighten you

Feb 1st 2011 11:16AM (Joystiq)
What I loved about Beat was its eagerness to f*** with you. It wasn't tough-but-fair; it was unabashedly trying to confuse, mess with, and wrong-foot the player. Demons Souls is hard, but it never had this sense of a developer gleefully seeking to misdirect like a sadistic stage magician. Looks like Flux shares that enthusiasm.
