This is disconcerting.. UK may have bought the most PS2's than North America but take that $600 price tag convert it to Euros or Pounds and put in VAT and other taxes (17.5%) and you got yourself an extremely expensive console. And thats with out the games wich are also more expensive than its competition (of the same ported titles I might add)

The price is the clear problem here. Even if there are people willing, the price will ruin the PS3's chance of adaptation. The price is so terrible and unrealistic that the head president of sales for the UK division of Sony resigned immediately.

And ontop of this most game developers no longer adheres to exclussive titles. They want to make the most money so they'll support as many consoles as they can afford. Unfortunately the PS3 devs are a lot more expensive and with a fewer install base compaired to its competitors I just dont see them doing too well this time around.

As one person above stated not all PS2 owners are going to be PS3 owners as many of the Xbox360 owners also owns PS2's so the PS2's install base is no indication or guarantee. We'll just see how long this dry spell for the PS3 will last. Only time can tell

why hasn't anyone said this but the difference in color quality between the two has something to do with your "Contrast" settings. you can easily adjust the Xbox 360 to have the same contrast washout as the PS3 on the second screen cap. color-quality is adjustable. and I can easily tell that the two versions do not have the same textures for the road as the Xbox360 version. though I have to admit the game does look better on 1080p but this is not a problem on the xbox360. ATI has a reputation for having a superior anti-aliasing solution than that of Nvidia. so I doubt that the PS3 has a superior graphics quality. Hardly the Xbox360 here is showing that it has the better quality overall with out having to be 1080p.

and as far as I know many games , movies and films relies on these kinds of processor to keep your kids from rioting out of boredom

Lets repeat this. BLU-RAY is not a bargain, BLU-RAY is not MAGICAL, BLU-RAY is an UN-Proven Technology, BLU-RAY is not gonna make the PS3 sell. People want a gaming console not a Media player. specially Media player that has a totally unknown future. (note Sony's infamous ability to make flopped standards, UMD, Beta-Max, MD discs, Proprietary audio formats etc etc) all of them 100% failures. why would blu-ray any different? because its strapped on a PS3? they assume the majority of people will buy a 600% player is rediculous and unrealistic.

60% of the movie industry is going with HD-DVD, the majority of those are the Major players while sony has the minor players. your Wasting your time and money with Blu-ray. infact Sony has never garnished the attention of the Movie industry since Beta-Max. okay?

the only People who masturbates at the thought of blu-ray is SONY themselves. As for now I'll just play with my PS2 and gamecube games. I might even get an Xbox360 if I really want those hardcore games. they'll end up on the Xbox360 anyways due to the larger marketshare. Larger marketshare more sales for GAME DEVELOPERS. game developers do NOT GIVE A DAMN about fanboys seriously NONE OF US DO.
