Eh...I've found myself going to Best Buy lately, even preordering stuff there (Which i only used to do at Gamestop)
A bunch of games there are giving you 500 points (a $10 certificate) just for preordering, and when you spend $150 in store you get 500 bonus points as well, which is another $10 certificate, and thats on top of the points i already earn as a Reward Zone Premier Silver customer...
To be honest I dont get the iphone Hatred sometimes :/ seems irrational from Apple "hateboys" :/
I'm not a fanboy, I have an iPhone 3G (And had the original iPhone as well), why? it does what I ask of it, it does it well, I've considered other phones for my next phone (the Palm Pre or one of the various HTC devices as well as a few Android phones) but from the time I spent with them I didn't see a device that was really -better- than the iphone, They all have their flaws...and the iPhones interface just works more intuitively to -me- over the competition
Fanboy infers buying anything because its from x company without thinking about it, I thought about it, i looked at the competition and considered the competition and said that none of the competition really does much over the iphone...The only thing I wish I had was Flash and I think Apple and Adobe are both shooting themselves in the foot repeatedly by both being stubborn on this...
Anyways..I'm torn on this...a lot of things are levied at it not following "Apple design language" and you're right, its more boxy than Apple usually does and it has seams...
However, whos to say Apple's design language wont change, my theory is this is a pre production unit, thus the seams, the seams are to ease disassembly to swap out prototype components and such to decide on the final hardware components, the final phone will be seamless
As for the removal of the rocker switch one of my iphones rocker switch got sheared off by a case twisting, So perhaps this is addressing that issue
Sometimes I think I'm the only one who has absolutely no issues with 3G or voice coverage on ATT o_O or dropped calls, call quality, or other various much-bitched about things with them...
In fact when I had Verizon I had all those problems, And their equipment sucked, Which is why I came to ATT in the first place [Well they were Cingular then]
While I agree building it yourself is great fun [And I've done it a lot] I've been heavily considering just ordering myself a vendor machine, simply because i just don't have the time to devote to get everything right, And I'm also not eager to do my own water cooling setup and would rather have a vendor do that for me
But i do agree on the Gaudy thing, Why don't they offer the Antec 900/1200 cases? At least they're fairly conservative and reserved compared to those abominations...
Eh..sadly I agree with Stacky on this, We don't buy it for the PC it tells Activision and them that the PC isn't a viable market, thus no more PC releases...
But if we buy it we send the message we'll compromise on what we want...in the end, we PC folk lose...
I also feel a lot of this is done in the sense of wanting to sell DLC....ie, lack of map editors dedicated servers and custom modes opens the ability for Activision to sell us at $5 a pop, those features at a later date..
But I feel that things will improve, Don't worry, Someone else will just come out with something as good or better and make it a PC exclusive ;)
I dont know, around here most of the bicyclists are idiots who ride their bikes down the middle of the street in the path of cars, then bitch when they get hit when they're riding down the middle of a 30mph street, dont pay attention, dont signal or otherwise indicate intent and suddenly come swerving over into the middle of a traffic lane and end up getting hit by someone who likely couldnt have stopped their car in time :/
Then the person who hit them is -instantly- guilty because its a bicycle vs a car, You frankly have little chance to survive
