Grid Wars author comments on clone's creation

Aug 20th 2006 10:58PM (Joystiq)
You guys think Bizzare could have handled this better? They were in talks with the guy for months, so I don't see that being possible. If he didn't copy the art, weapons, enemies, score system, aka everything and didn't give it an allusive name, this probably never would have happened. Bizzare has to protect this stuff or they loose some of their rights to it (legally).

You don't see mono getting any grief, do you?

Retail boxart for Xbox Live Arcade: Unplugged

Jun 29th 2006 4:25PM (Joystiq)
Are you people honestly trying to tell me you can't sign up for XBL Silver, but you can manage to post to this site, email challenge and all? I don't buy it. Someone is either lying or really lazy.

Joystiq hands-on: Taking Test Drive for a test drive

Jun 21st 2006 9:24AM (Joystiq)
@ 30 Demo - Sorry, but your wrong. Myself and several friends thought the demo had potential. Some people can't be pleased I guess. This is the only game that I can drive with a manual, which is saying something for the sound work on the game. Inside view in an Elise was fun. I really doubt Atari employees care what the Joystiq forums think. Afterall, we are a tiny portion of the game buying public.

DIY gaming chair for $80, BYO wheel/pedals

Jun 17th 2006 5:41PM (Joystiq)
You guys do know that you can rent welders. Did you include the cost of you PC/Console/Monitor/Stereo when you weighed buying your favorite game? No.

And Rob, I don't know if you realize this, but most automotive seats are adjustable in at least 2 ways, and frequently up to 8, so your point is moot.

This obviously isn't for people who don't have the inclanation to work with welders, but the internet is clearly a haven for people who have zero skill short of bitching and moaning.

Microsoft toys with our Street Fighter II hopes

Cage - Umm, your city pays for that fountain and the water it supplies with tax money. It likely also pays for a water treatment facility.

27 new titles back-compat on Xbox 360

Jun 13th 2006 3:55PM (Joystiq)
Sabre - YOU'RE the one with something to PROVE. The devs have stated their reasoning, and we have very little reason to doubt that. I mean, if there were some nefarious plan to protect 360 games here, they're doing an absolutely terrible job of it. And there is no reason, either way Microsoft makes royalties.

Microsoft laid it out very clearly on xbox.com, if you don't agree with the claims, then you need to bring some proof.

A look at Penny Arcade's ESRB ad campaign

Jun 10th 2006 7:06PM (Joystiq)
I managed to read that sitting comfortably at my desk and I imagine the younger you go, the less pissy people will get about reading it. In my opinion it draws you in and nearly makes you read it, along with the artwork jumping out of a white background. It's a change of pace for ESRB and it's directed at a certain demographic, not a one size fits all ad campaign.

Player1, I've had young kids wan't to play my 360, but wanted to know that the game was the appropriate rating. Now sure, thier parents were probably the cause of that, but I think that the goal of the campaign is to raise awareness among kids and adults.

Hastert jumps ship from hydrogen car to SUV after photo-op

Apr 29th 2006 4:40PM (Autoblog Green)
This would have been a non story otherwise. It wasn't his car, it's some prototype. It's a photo-op nothing more. Do people really think for one second that the Speaker is riding around in a hydrogen car with GM stickers all over it? NO, might as well put shoot here. It's a show of support, nothing more, nothing less.

TurboGrafx-16 retrospective

Apr 27th 2006 9:20PM (Joystiq)
O man I almost forgot what it looks like... I used the portable version in it's later years... whatever that was called... I guess I don't have much of a memory for game history.

Garry to sell his mod through Steam

Apr 15th 2006 5:48PM (Joystiq)
You guys are a bunch of selfish punks. What does gary owe you? Nothing. This mentality is unbelievable.
