Sure its running off the COD4 engine, and the various videos make it look identical to COD4, but for whatever reason it doesnt feel like COD4. Thats not down to the WW2 setting either, but something fundamentally has gone wrong. I cant quite put my finger on what either. Though the player aspect doesnt feel as wide, the palette isnt as striking, characters seem to move faster or the hit detection is worse, the maps may well be larger but feel cluttered rather than open and clean. For whatever reason it just doesnt feel right, and I feel sorta bad for Infinity Ward, letting Treyarch making a mess of things again
just goes to show you cant trust reviews these days. The review copies were fundamentally broken with 30-60 second battle load times, frequent framerate drops etc... The retail version however has fixed all those problems. And this is as good an RPG as Chrono Trigger/Final Fantasy VII.
Yeah a Hayabusa themed master chief would be a scary prospect. No weapons would'nt stop it going kung fu on your ass. Loving the game (this coming from someone who never got the hype surrounding either Halo 1 or 2)
Erm, so what about us folks in the UK? My Big Daddy arrived damaged, drill piece chipped, a finger snapped off, and a chunk out of its knee. The only other person I know who purchased the collectors edition also had the same problem with the drill bit. So why aren't we eligible for an exchange?
another simply dreadful looking excuse of a game on the PS3. Ninja Gaiden, God Of War, and Devil May Cry would have this for lunch. If you havent already, then buy those rather than this overhyped pretender. Theres just so many things wrong with Heavenly Sword I don't know where to begin. No jump button, no camera control (something I thought games of this nature would benefit from this gen), disappointing character models, again with the power of these new consoles, we should be seeing differences between enemies in both costume and facial appearance at the very least. Jarring physics, especially when you pick an object up and throw it, the framerate goes to hell. For such a short demo, it was extremely repetitive, and the combat just felt... dare I say it, dull, and a bit static? Certainly not quite as free flowing as the subliminal God Of War 2.
meh I don't see anything next gen about it, in style or substance. The stop start gameplay looks more than a little offputting. As if a barrel on flat ground could gain enough momentum to injure/kill soldiers only several feet away from them. Now being able to shoot from the barrel while rolling around inside it, that would have been next gen! All things considered I didnt see anything in that video that couldnt have been done on PS2, and that would have warranted me buying a PS3 if I didnt already own one. System Seller my ass.
just for the record Xbots, the PS2 had sold over a million units in japan in its first week on sale. The PS3 STILL hasnt surpassed that magical figure 6 months on in its "home country", and the PS3 inarguably has a stronger lineup than the PS2 did from day one the world over. So if anyone is twisting facts, its you sir
