Sep 11th 2006 9:31PM (Joystiq)I very much understand your opinions, but I think your looking at things the wrong way. The fact that you don't believe in the war effort or because you think we were wrong to overthrow Saddam is irrelevant. This article isn't about the war. It's about a soldier. A man who underwent serious hardship, exhaustive training, and eventually even died for what he BELIEVED in. That's what's important. Not the political views on a war, but a soldier who deserves to be remembered. You don't have to support the war to support your brothers, sons, fathers in the armed services. I don't agree with everything the gov't tells me, but when you are over there and you see these kids in a classroom that they didn't even have two years ago all come running out to thank you and talk to you with their smiling faces. Dammit that makes it all worth while. People tend to forget what were fighting for. we fight for the children. so that they too can one day have the same chance at life that we did. If you don't agree with this, fine. But don't take it out on the memory of a good man doing what he thought was right. PFC Madras, God Bless.
Your brother in arms,
SPC Thompson
