The fact that the perpetrators were black was lifted directly from the radio report without much consideration. However, if they were described as toothless white hillbillies wearing overalls you can bet the "joke" would have been about crystal meth so forgive the stereotypical drug humor. Actually, I was robbed at gunpoint by two misguided victims of society a few years ago so that's why this story about a local crime caught my attention.
