Star Wars: The Force Unleashed gets multiplatform exclusives

Apr 5th 2008 1:14PM (Joystiq)
Sadly, I feel like the "exclusive content" on Wii will feel more like something missing than something added. I guess things could be worse though.

N-Gage application finally launches

YES!! Now I've got every gaming experience I've ever wanted, except of course for Duke Nukem Forever!

Gears of War 2 appearing at this month's NY Comic Con

Apr 2nd 2008 1:49PM (Joystiq)
I think Gears 2 should stack up to be a pretty solid game. I just hope Epic holds up on their end and really utilizes some of the new features displayed at GDC. In my opinion, the graphics for Gears are just fine for a LONG time, but as long as they keep the game fresh and "next gen" in terms of realism, I think it'll keep from getting too stale. Can't wait!

Harmonix confirms 'Still Alive' will be free 'indefinitely'

Apr 1st 2008 9:21PM (Joystiq)
Let's hope that for all the people who don't have Rock Band yet, this offer will be...still alive when they do. Okay, I admit it, that was disgraceful, even considering some of the Joystiq post jokes... :-P

April Fools' Alert #10: Wii Sports on iPhone and utter obsolescence

Apr 1st 2008 7:39PM (Joystiq)
It's ashame you feel that way, because as Kickassness pointed out, they are all pretty awesome! I guess that's just my opinion, though. Doesn't matter to me, as long as they keep making good games, I don't care who is on the cover!

GTA IV cleared by BBFC, 'no cuts made'

This HAS to be an April Fool's joke...

Today's most message-filled video: Bibleman

Aug 14th 2007 10:45AM (Joystiq)
I find it just a bit ridiculous that many of the people commenting are penning this as the work of mainstream Christianity. A game like this seems to be the work of fundamentalists, an extremely minor precentage of the faith in general. You could show this video to 100 Christians out on the street, and I'd be shocked if more than 1 actually took it's radical message seriously. I consider myself a decent Christian and I find that the message in the video couldn't have less to do with my beliefs. As for others, they are free to their opposing beliefs, as well. And, as was previously commented, I'm sure that the sentiments of the video would be more or less accepted depending on where you live.

Just as is the case with all beliefs, there will always be followers who radically stick to their pattern of thinking. This post is edging on flame bait and, rather than giving in to pointless disputes of personal beliefs on a gaming site, just enjoy the video for it's humorous value, because I think I speak for most when I say it is hard to take this video seriously.

U.S. Nintendo presser somewhat-liveblogging [update 8]

Sep 14th 2006 10:09AM (Joystiq)
Does anyone else besides myself feel a little let down with Nintendo once again? The recent news from IBM made it seem that the console would be ready for launch SOON, yet they still failed to beat Sony to market, despite Sony's continued production problems. Also, Iwata suggested to look to past prices for a hint of the Wii's price. I could be wrong, but didn't every Nintendo (Home) system launch for $200. I understand that Nintendo is delivering a unique experience, and I know they kept to their promise of staying in the $250 or lower price range, but I still feel let down. I'm as excited as the next fanboy though, I've been one my whole life. Nintendo has yet to dissapoint me so far, so I'll keep my hopes up. Let the games begin!

Games sales figures show online is key

May 25th 2006 6:27PM (Joystiq)
If a game can keep me entertained for long enough, I see no problem with paying a subscription fee. I don't play online games, but I checked and a monthly subscription to WoW costs about $15, if you don't even purchase any of the discount bundle packages. That comes out to a little more than what I'd pay for three new games. But again, if it can keep me entertained, I can't see what's wrong with it. My problem would be becoming so engrossed and devoted to an online subscription game that I forget my poor systems...
