Halo: Reach Betabusters: things you probably didn't know about the beta
May 5th 2010 3:19PM (Joystiq Xbox)I did not know the beam bounced rockets though. That's some cool news.
Also... I'd like to add that you can grenade stick someone who is armor locked, so time it right, stick the target, and they get a present waiting for them when they come out of lock.

Apr 6th 2009 3:53PM (Joystiq)If you're going to make a game that puts the consumer in the boots of a current day soldier during a current day conflict engaged in an internationally publicized trademark battle, then you'd better bring your marketing to bear and be sincere about your intentions. And if your intentions are NOT socially aware, if they are NOT politically moving... if you are NOT making a statement and trying to engage the audience intellectually, and if you say "it's just a videogame", then you need to be taken out back and shot. Anyone who disagrees, go see Blackhawk Down, see how it was marketed and why they made the decisions that they made involving that film.
Personally I don't have a problem with taking videogames down this road, as this medium has all the potential in the world for increasing awareness in the same ways that television and films do. Don't undermine your own product that could have an impact with the potential of a long-standing legacy, not to mention cultural significance on its own merits, for the sake of a misguided impression of what you obviously perceive as a shallow audience, by just expecting us to laugh it off as "just a videogame" in order to make your bottom line in an economically struggling market.
