Castlevania: Lords of Shadow producer teasing new game, namedrops Dracula

Apr 2nd 2012 7:03PM (Joystiq)
@Bewoulf I wish I never played it, believe me. I endured through TWO HOURS of Claudia's incessant "YOU NEED TO LOOK FOR THE CRYSTALS, GABRIEL!!!!!" because the camera had fixed angles and didn't show me that one location I needed to go to.. I endured those neverending, droning monologues of Patrick Stuart, telling me again and again and AGAIN! what a haunted soul Gabriel Belmont was. I ground my teeth in frustration at the idiotic battle system with it's "dial-a-combo" structure. I made it into the Castle Courtyard and had enough. I usually don't throw my controllers, but this game made me chuck one.

Really, I hate this game with a passion. Darksiders was much, much better than this.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow producer teasing new game, namedrops Dracula

Boooo, I hate it with a passion. That's not my Castlevania!

I want a gorgeous castle in 2D! High-Definition-Sprites! A memorable soundtrack! Exploration! Secrets!

I absolutely don't want a half-baked God-Of-War-Prince-Of-Persia-Shadow-Of-The-Colossus-frankenstein with the name "Belmont" slapped on for good measure. That's like taking a generic military flight game and calling it Ace Combat.

(Don't) Give me that old time RPG combat

Mar 30th 2012 9:28PM (Joystiq)
Please, no real-time battles for Wasteland 2. If you want to include flashy animations or stuff, do an (optional) highlight reel in between turns, but I want turn-based tactics. I WANT to crunch numbers, agonize about every action point and attack method. If I want to play real-time-battles, i'd pick up Starcraft, seriously.

And the sad part? I'm complaining like this since Baldur's Gate came around. The last RPG with a halfway decent turn-based system was Wizardry 8 - since then only the Dragon Quest remakes were any good.

Xbox 360 used more for video and music apps than for gaming

"Today Microsoft added MLB.TV, HBO GO and Comcast Xfinity TV apps to its lineup, which already includes Hulu, Netflix, YouTube, Zune, Last.fm and others."

Only in selected regions*.

*: Which means: If you live outside the US, you're basically screwed.

Ridge Racer Unbounded trailer creates a few cities

With the loops and the toy box editor mode? Trackmania, but who am I to judge? Everything with creation tools is a plus in my book (as long as we don't get swamped with "parts" DLC), so I'm carefully optimistic. If the car physics are only half as decent as in FlatOut Ultimate Carnage, I'll get it.

Sooooo... bring on the DEMO!

SoulCalibur 5's upcoming DLC has maid costumes, more swimsuits

Mar 18th 2012 12:56PM (Joystiq)
It blows my mind that there is actually a market for such crap. OK, a Pac-Man-head I can get behind, but... swimwear? maid costumes? Thanks, but no thanks.

Battlefield 3's lack of DLC: DICE general manager explains

Solution: A campaign with online-coop? maybe a single-player component that doesn't suck? Problem fix'd

I would prefer a game with a big map library out of the gate, but much more importantly a decent single player offering. Four to six hours for a campaign is a joke. If game publishers would stop treating gamers like sad, pathetic ADHS patients we wouldn't have this conversation.

Fight Jihl Nabaat in latest Final Fantasy XIII-2 DLC

So glad I held off my FFXIII-2 purchase. With that torrent of DLC incoming, I might as well wait for the inevitable Ultimate International Climax Edition...

Capcom: Street Fighter X Tekken DLC on-disc to ensure compatibility

Mar 5th 2012 8:51PM (Joystiq)
Come on, Capcom, just say it:

"Here's half a game, if you want the other half, cough up".

See, isn't that easy?

DLC is not about expanding the games, it's about expanding the company's income. Why do we pay 60€ again?

Ummm... I prefer Duane and BrandO, thanks.
