CONFIRMED: Best Buy will match Circuit City's price if you bring the CC flyer (or printout from their website, I imagine) into the store. However, you will NOT get the free "art book" if you do the price match. No big loss there.
I just bought my copy at the Soho Best Buy in NYC (which is actually north of Houston, but that's another story).
I have an M3 mini SD that I use with my DS Lite, and I totally love it. It sticks out about the same amount as a regular GBA cart, which is fine with me. It's compatible with pretty much all of the commercial ROMS, and does a ton of other stuff as well.
It *is* a bit complicated to set up, though. You have to flash your DS firmware using a passme device before you can use the M3 by itself with your DS. But once I figured out how to do that, it was totally worth it.
BTW, I view the ability to download commercial ROMS as a way to preview games before you buy them, especially since most places don't rent DS games. Plus, ROMS allow you to find lots of games that just aren't available commercially any more. I recently decided that I wanted to play Tactics Ogre for GBA, but couldn't find it in any retail store. I bought a copy off of ebay that didn't work, and then just decided to get the ROM.
i called one of the two targets in brooklyn earlier today, and they don't have them. someone else on digg.com called the other target in brooklyn, the one in queens, and one in jersey city, and they didn't have them either. so i think those of us in the NYC metro area are out of luck, unless some enterprising soul in south jersey wants to "import" them for us...
another NYC ds lite update: kmart in astor place isn't selling them yet.
the first guy i spoke with in the electronics dept didn't even know what at DS was. you'd think that such clueless people would be prime candidates for not knowing about the street date and just starting to sell them, but apparently not...
there actually ARE targets in NYC - at least three of them. i know of one in queens, and two in brooklyn.
i called the target at atlantic center at flatbush/atlantic ave in brooklyn, but they said they weren't selling ds lites yet. regular ds, sure, but no ds lite.
anyone else in nyc have luck finding one? i really don't wanna go to jersey...
