'Superman' Casting Rumors: 'Watchmen's Matthew Goode New Frontrunner

Nov 22nd 2010 12:05PM (Moviefone Blog)
Hmm. I always thought Superman was Kryptonian... Anyone born under this Sun is just wrong for the role.

Seriously though, acting is acting. Is Goode right for the role? I don't know, maybe not. But it has nothing to do with Nationalism.

Bethesda parent company trademarks 'Oblivion' for use in films

Sep 11th 2010 6:31PM (Joystiq)
I'm thinking that the real reason Bethesda is filing this trademark is to prevent Joseph Kosinski (Tron Legacy) from calling his next project Oblivion.

Sure, they COULD be working to make a feature length movie based on the franchise but if that were the case, it would have been "The Elder Scrolls" that they would have Trademarked, not just Oblivion. If it was a film they wanted, they would tell a new story in the saga, one that goes hand in hand with the games, not replaces them.

More likely, they could be planning a series of shorts, similar to the Halo or Assassain's Creed movies that would serve as a marketing bridge to the The Elder Scrolls V, which they have yet to announce but are hard at work on. However, if THAT were the case, they would likely be branded under the title of the next game, whatever that may be...

No... I think it more likely they caught wind of Mr Kosinski's project and have made an attempt to ensure that going forward, people don't associate the term Oblivion with anything else other then their vision of hell, as it relates to the Elder Scrolls Franchise.

And if that be the case, it's probably a good thing, I'm sure Kosinski can come up with a more original title for his film, should Bethesda get what it wants here.

Joseph 'Tron: Legacy' Kosinski's 'Oblivion' Gets a Screenwriter

I'm thinking this project is the real reason Bethesda, or more specifically Zenimax, just made a grab at trademarking the title "Oblivion" as it relates to film.

James Cameron: "3D Will Replace 2D in Less Than 25 Years"

May 13th 2010 1:32PM (Cinematical)
Whaddaya call it? A Model T?

This is the most absurd and uncomfortable form of transportation I've ever seen, my boy.

If you think this heap of junk will ever replace the noble and reliable steed... Well then, you have another thing coming.

Damnit...

Neverwhere just isn't getting made anytime soon, is it?

At least not with this Cat.

And for a Twilight sequel?

Damnit.

Discuss: The Future of Zombiedom

Feb 13th 2009 12:41AM (Cinematical)
Here is what I think... The fast and slow Zombie crowds need to come compromise here. Fresh zombies should be fast and angry and the um... Older ones should start to slow down. The creeping menace of a rotting undead is important to the themes and is very powerful in it's steady relentlesness but you must concede, it was both awesome and logical (in so far as you can be so with zombies) when the husband at the begining of the New Dawn of the Dead freaks out and chases Sarah Polly down, only to vear off at a better target as she drove away.

Oh and Word War Z is the next step... Or anything global in it's scale.

Enough with the barns and malls and bunkers... I mean, we love it and all, don't get me wrong, but let's see the world wide impact, let's have an epic zombie film. Something around the lines of The Stand, only where Captain Tripps makes you eat faces, not curl up and die in a yellow pile of mucus.

Discuss: Who's In Need of a Biopic?

I'd kill to see a Freddy Mercury Biopic.

And I'd suggest Nelson Carbonell to play him, while I'm at it.

More Deadpool can only ever be a good thing.

Sundance Review: Bronson

Jan 22nd 2009 5:51PM (Cinematical)
What a great review... It sounds as if Bronson is everything I had hoped it could be.

I can't wait to see this flick. Thanks for that, Scott.
