Still not as good as the solution with the 360. The battery pack can be swapped out into the charger instead of the entire controller. A solution for the Wii should be do-able. The PS3 will need an external battery to allow this.
Halo is very similar to Heinlein's "Starship Troopers" (book, not the movie). Powered armor, drop ships, adaptive weaponry (Morita), Skinnies, Bugs, etc.
BluRay and HD-DVD are following the same pattern as SACD and DVD-A with more oppressive DRM. Wait at least 1 year before deciding if it's woth the extra cost of either solution.
As far as games, buy the system that has the games you want to play. If you want the biggest and badest, consoles are NOT the way to go. A high-end PC that can output >1080p is available now.
I am looking forward to Hominid on XBLA. I didn't originally buy it because I thought it is basically a Flash game. Given they will update it and charge a lower price, sounds like a good addition to my arcade collection (which is a fantastic feature of the 360).
I am very disapointed with his statement. I have been playing games from the original XBox on my 360. So far, I really enjoy having a backlog of XBox games, 360 games, and XBox Live games to pick from. If they ditch that, it'll be big downer to me.
