Surely if the games are good enough to become finalists, they deserve to be published to the arcade? What hope does this give people trying to get their own game onto the XBLA?

My guess is this: This 'last stand' game mode is kind of like the Gears of War mulitplayer mode where your bleed out, or Shadowrun for that matter Knuckles :)
'Cept the difference is that you fall down to the ground and you're left with just a pistol to fight off your opponent, obviously the odds are stacked against you but you have that slim chance of popping a headshot in your opponent. Pretty cool i think, also, the 'hold X for a cowards way out' could be like a 'bugger it i'll just die thanks'. Hehe.

@ Derek. Look, and this is nothing against Dustin, is that post giving much praise to The Darkness other than stating *other* places are reviewing it highly? No, it isn't, it's a particularly skeptical outlook on the game if I'm honest - is that the sort of approach you would expect from someone getting paid to write about it? Don't think so.

Thanks Knuckles, a nice read per usual. I can't wait to pick up Shadowrun after this crazy exam period, and then hopefully I'll be able to hook up with you in a match or two, that is, if you still feel like teaching a rookie... :)

Good call Richard. I, like the guy above me, didn't really know what DMC was about, until a short while ago when a friend of mine compared it to Ninja Gaiden, gameplay wise at least. Colour me very interested.

That's fantastic news. I've been waiting (and wanting) for this feature to come to the 360 dashboard, similar to that found in Smash Bros. Melee on the Gamecube. Where do i sign...?
