Remote Play not enhanced in latest firmware? [Update 1]
Mar 25th 2007 1:09AM (Joystiq Playstation)As for more lag, I did not notice any significant change. Did you check the connection settings? Try setting it to 5 while you navigate the system and before u watch a video or listen to music, set the connection to a lower number for better quality.
PS3 1.60: Background downloading works while gaming
Mar 21st 2007 7:00PM (Joystiq)Wow Microsoft, you want me to pay $50 a year if I want to play games online AND I only get a web based online community... Nice. Oh, but I can chat with my friends for free and buy things from your store for free... You're just too kind. Wait, I thought Microsoft's Online network focuses on gaming, but I have to pay for that? If this is a game-centric network why do I see these movies and tv shows?! Somebody is not telling the truth here....
STFU Microsoft.
Wow, Free online community access and I can play my games online at no charge. Lets see, I can video-chat with my friends, send messages, access my PS3 using my PSP with remote play, browse the web and download videos, mp3s and all sorts straight to my PS3. Now you want to add more features, 'fix' the annoying problems of the service and you still don't want to charge me? Wait, you're not done? Oh, you want to include a 3D world, similar to The Sims and let me create my own virtual character and house? I share my PS3 content with gamers across the world? Okay, so what is this going to cost me? A Playstation 3. Anything else? No? YOU ROCK! ALL THIS FOR $600?!?! I love you Sony.
Wow I'm glad I saved my money for you!
PlayStation Store hits the web ... sort of
Mar 18th 2007 12:57AM (Joystiq Playstation)My thoughts exactly. I own both the PSP and PS3. Checked out the PS store and only saw a couple games that caught my interest. I will say that the games do port over pretty well, but some of these games show their age - they aren't as fun as they use to be. One thing I noticed, in some games (Mid-Evil), where the directional buttons just aren't very responsive. This isn't the fault of the PSP or porting the game to the PSP, it is simply the game itself. I guess its easy to forget how much better game control has improved over the past decade. Some titles, like Hot Shots Golf 2 and Tekken 2 were never hampered by flakey controls so they transition very well. But with PSP versions of Hot Shots Golf and Tekken, why get the 10+ year old version that only uses a portion of the screen? Have to be a big fan, money to blow or storage space.
Cnet maintains dismay with PS3, lists 10 items for improvement
Feb 27th 2007 7:52PM (Joystiq)I'm going to go play Virtua Fighter 5 on my PS3 now...
PSP December Content Pack now available
Dec 14th 2006 9:01PM (Joystiq Playstation)There are so many other games to try out, give me something new, not Loco Roco with a new skin.
Nice to know that Japan gets more love from Sony than America when it comes to PSP stuff.....
2006 belongs to PS2, rules Game Informer [update 2]
Dec 12th 2006 7:53PM (Joystiq)*PS3 has less than 12 games, but 6 (50%) of those which made the list and only 1 exclusive. PS3 has been out for what, 1 month? Not bad.
Enough said.

Umm, do you realize what this article is saying? Maybe you should read it again... Sony's last-gen system did better than Microsoft's and Nintendo's (as well as Sony's) next-gen system. It was basically stating last-gen hardware is still beating out new... Not that Sony, Nintendo or even Microsoft sucks.
I swear, some of these posters must be under 10 years old. No offense to the other users who think before they post; you know who you are.
Sony patents Wii-like pointer tech (20 months ago)

Who did Sony copy these ideas from?
- PSone rendering 3D graphics (computers?)
- PSone CD Playback (Sega CD?)
- PS2 HDD add-on (though hardware took forever, idea of console having a HDD was out before MS ever released the Xbox). (computers again?)
- PS2 DVD playback (3DO?)
- Backwards compatibility (lol whatever)
- Eye Toy (motion activated gaming) (lol again)
- PS3 to PSP remote play feature (PDAs using Terminal Services to use 'remote play/connection' for 3rd party applications?)
- Free online gaming... not from Microsoft, that's for sure.
Maybe you should take "Introduction to Business" as your next elective. Competition has always been good for the consumer. Without it, products and services never improve.
How about making valid points next time, rather than solely fan-boy or hater comments and maybe you can actually reach someone with your opinions.
Major PS3 firmware update in March?
Dec 5th 2006 7:07PM (Joystiq)Keep buying the MS products... Xbox was abandoned right after 360 release. MS is already working on next-gen console... so when does support stop for the 360? What happens to your paid Live subscription?
I suppose you guys don't consider a subscription fee on gaming consoles money grubbing, right? As long as it looks cheap... only us Americans have problems seeing the bottom line.
Keep believing what MS is telling you.
Deal of the Day: PSP Entertainment Pack for $185 [Update 1]
Dec 5th 2006 6:53PM (Joystiq Playstation)New Price Point - $129.99 (same as Playstation 2).
Why the big price drop? Because you need a 500-600 PS3 to download games for the PSP's PSone emulator.
