"Yep, it's a big Flash-based alarm clock that can run widgets in the background -- bet you never saw that coming." Funny how you can be so forward and final with such statement, but the iPad gets the benefit of a question mark when saying it's just a big iPod Touch...
There was this article posted at Engadget once, regarding Sony's OLED touchscreen walkman and it's industrial design, and I very vividly remember one negative appreciation about it: The combination of a fully touch operated UI and physical controls on top, apparently evidenciated a lack of confidence in the product offered, as if they didn't trust we could operate the thing thoroughly by touch. Reading about Apple and how they refuse to give us flash support and multitasking, I can't help to wonder if similar reasons are behind these desitions.
@NeoSeer: Agreed. But can you really blaime them for shooting aimlessly now, if they're so busy getting the PSP2 ready asap? They know they'll own this decade with that puppy, so they don't really care about "right now".
Sorry to go off topic, but something about those press shots scream ARGENTINE to me... from the name Alejandra to the movie title including the phrase "...no es joda !!!" (very typical expression over here) and even the guy holding the phone's clothes! Heck, I think I even own a pair of those jeans myself!
One day Steve Jobs says "stylus, yuk!" and suddenly everybody discards "resistive" and "stylus" for good. Amazing. "As hard as the world has worked to get away from styli and toward fingers..." not the world, just Apple.
I was expecting something else. A few seconds after it starded I was like "No... Really? It's about the thing not playing UMD's??" That's so retarded. Just keep your 2000 or 3000. Don't have one? Buy one, it's not discontinued. Not too long ago, before the GO was even anounced, people were clamoring for a UMD less PSP. Oh but you had to have free games too uh? I guess the Sony survey didn't ask that.
Without telling you how I feel about the PSPgo, I have to wonder: Why does anyone who might hint at buying this or dare to support Sony get low rated? I get it, we're all opinionated but jeez... You know, I still type pspfanboy.com on my address bar to reach this page. Hard to remember why.
