Feb 22nd 2008 7:48PM (Engadget)There are many other benefits to the 360, suchas the Windows Media Center Extender. It allows you to access all of your media on your computer from your 360. Plus, you can rent full HD-quality movies, as well as a wide selection of TV shows over Xbox Live Marketplace.
Also, if you are looking for Blu-ray, an add-on is rumored to be coming around the summer, though it has not been confirmed.
Xbox Live is also a great service. For a few dollars a month ($4 if you buy the right card) you get online play on just about any game. There are a few that lack it, but only the ones that lack multiplayer altogether. You can chat with other friends that have XBL, as well as forge new friendships with people you meet in-game. It is altogether a great experience.
Reflecting upon what else was said, the premium price for the black console includes HDMI chords and a 120 gb hard drive (as opposed to the standard 20 gb), so you arent only paying for the black finish.
The high failure rate was supposedly corrected around the holiday season with a new, smaller chipset.
So for all of these reasons i recommend an Xbox 360. It is my favorite console and i am sure it will be yours.
