Rumor: Team Bondi to be acquired by Mad Max studio, KMM
Aug 6th 2011 2:19PM (Joystiq)I'd say yes they do own the rights to LA Noire. Rockstar has commented about future DLC not anyone from Team Bondi. Rockstar stepped in for Sony when they dropped LA Noire because it went way over budget and put up the money to allow the game to go forward.
The real issue is the facial recognition technology. IMO Team Bondi probably owns that technology, not Rockstar. One of the major things that made LA Noire great is the facial recognition technology. Even if Rockstar gets someone else to develop a sequel I really don't think I'd want to play a game like LA Noire without that technology.

Jun 17th 2011 7:31PM (Joystiq)Yes, it really is. These people are the lowest form of life on the planet. Each and every one of them need to be jailed for many years.
The truly unfortunate part of this is they're all probably 15 year old losers who when they're caught will only do a few years in a juvenile facility and then get hired by companies like Microsoft for big bucks.

Jun 17th 2011 7:29PM (Joystiq)Unfortunately, nobody's going to realize that part of the story. Just like this article does, they're going to assume that XBox Live got hacked. A couple weeks ago the media reported GMail got hacked when the truth is that some idiots got social engineered in to giving up their password so their individual accounts were compromised.

Jun 17th 2011 7:27PM (Joystiq)No Rockstar Pass required to watch this LA Noire 'Nicholson Electroplating' DLC trailer
Jun 16th 2011 8:02PM (Joystiq)I did just that last night with the first two DLC cases. I really hope Rockstar and Team Bondi release as much DLC as GTA IV got but I doubt it'll get that much. I just hope the last DLC isn't the already announced stuff they're releasing in July.

Jun 16th 2011 8:00PM (Joystiq)If Team Bondi and Rockstar intentionally took these cases out of the game in order to make money via DLC than I think you'd have a right to be pissed off. But that's not what happened.
The fact is that the content Team Bondi created for this game is just too big for the current disc formats. As it is, the game fills up a Blu Ray disc on PS3 and three DVDs on XBox 360. If they had kept all of the content in the game it would have released as SIX DVD's and possibly two Blu Ray discs. I know XBox wasn't happy with the possibility of six DVDs. Team Bondi had to keep getting rid of things before the console manufacturers (who do give the go-ahead for games to be published for their system) were happy. It started as six DVDs, went to five, then to four and finally to the three they released.
I wouldn't have had a problem if the game had been six DVDs but I bet a lot of other gamers would have complained about it and it possibly would have held down the sales numbers some, so I understand why this has happened.
I agree with you that the DLC cases do make the game a little disjointed, but the ones I've played so far IMO aren't really that important to the overall story arc. Originally I thought Team Bondi had cut out an entire desk from the game but it looks like they've cut out an entire desk's worth of material, meaning four or five cases.
Uncharted 3 scouts Late Night with Jimmy Fallon
Jun 16th 2011 11:50AM (Joystiq)Tonight is indeed BF 3. Tomorrow night is The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword.
Uncharted 3 scouts Late Night with Jimmy Fallon
Jun 16th 2011 11:45AM (Joystiq)Fallon isn't alone at not finishing huge games like Uncharted. Rockstar found that most gamers who purchased it never got around to finishing GTA IV, even those who liked the game. They found there were two reasons for that. One, people got to a point where they couldn't beat a chase, grew frustrated and gave up. Two, the game is SO big that "real life" and other games got in the way and people never got around to finishing the game.
A guy like Jimmy Fallon is so busy with different things during his day I'm not surprised he didn't finish Uncharted. It's not like he works just a 9-5 job like the rest of us and can sit on his couch play games and drink beer (like the rest of us) every day when he's not working.
Far Cry 3 preview: Wandering off course
Jun 8th 2011 6:59PM (Joystiq)Had there been a reasonable save/checkpoint system, more consistent AI and better hit detection on the AI characters I really think I would have loved the game because the story (at least up to the point where I quit in frustration) was a good one.
