I'll add that once you click into a story all is fine and it looks great. I wish the main page was like this. When you click into a story you get the ad at the top, followed by the engadget logo / bar / navigation. . .and then the story. Maybe you could add the option of the person logged in making the main page like this and allowing the option of cutting out the clutter at the top?

Maybe I was a tad unhelpful with the hideous , and I appreciate there's no de-uglify button but I'll tell you a couple of things that make the website uglier and perhaps you could sort them.
1) the bar at the top. . a headline poster/ advert (currently the "2009 Holiday Gift Guide"), It's just useless and takes up too much space. Before you even get to any interesting articles you have an advert (I appreciate that is nessessary , that's followde by the black bar of Engadget, that is followed by the banner "Holiday gift guide". . .that is followed by a bar with "News, Hub, Galleries" etc, then under this is a montage of images / articles and then under all that jargon there are the actual interesting articles.

I find the fonts alright and I don't mind having that column down the right hand side as it's somewhat useful. . .but the amount of horizontal bars on the website, followed by the montage of images is a little too much.

Don't get me wrong , I love this site and read it every day - but the new design is really quite bad.

Thanks for that. I wish we could disable permanently the stupid news montage icons at the top.

I'd just like to say "fire the web development team you hired for this new site". Absolutely horrendous. Shockingly bad, one of the most hideous tech sites I've come across. Bring back the old simple, easy to read site.

at 3:20 can someone tell my why insomniac love the need for you to shoot your opponents 600 times before they die?

I downloaded the demo which took about 5 hours. The game is brilliant . . .i've played the demo at least 5 times alone . . .and even more with my friend. The graphics are great, the game play is fast and I can't wait to play the full thing online!

The online could be more broken! Not by much though - no friend invite?! What is that about? I'm bewildered.

The same way , Colin McCrae rally is the same . . . .and Fifa is the same.

It will feature new gameplay, maps and options. Simple really, and I LOVE the idea of a tropical island
