@RasenganFury It's pretty clearly a reference to dollar bills in design.

Telltale looks to Heavy Rain for Jurassic Park gameplay design

I look forward to this, but I take issue with one thing - there shouldn't have been any question about that can of shaving foam and the embryos that Nedry stole. I'm pretty sure that it was stated in the film when he met Dodgson that it only contained enough gas to keep the can cold for 24 hours - it was absolutely in the book anyway.

Other than that - Jurassic Park always brings me (happily) back to my childhood, so I'm glad they're taking a story based approach to this game.

I thought it would be pretty obvious that this wouldn't happen but something else, which they've already snuck in, would - that they will eventually begin to offer gamers the ability to purchase bundles of CoD Points, essentially giving people a shortcut to new weapons, whilst not blocking off an existing gameplay feature to everyone.

This is EXACTLY how games like Mafia Wars work:
"Well you can spend days and days earning enough XP and ingame cash to buy a new house or gun, or alternatively you can just spend 1.99 and we'll give you it now"

Multiply this by several million customers and you've got quite the return.

Bad sign, good deal: Enslaved for $25 on Amazon

@MatthewJ

Also, on the game itself, I really want to play it, but the marketing in the UK was pretty rubbish, and the box art and, I think, the title of the game really hurt its take up rate here. I heard the name before I saw anything of the game and I thought it'd be some Japanese RPG or something.

Windows Phone 7 tablet concept is just a big iPhone (video)

Mar 18th 2010 9:58AM (Engadget)
@emnetic I think its a slightly unfair title, because the iPad UI is essentially not much different from the iPhone UI, and that doesn't lend itself well to tablet sized usage. Whereas whilst WP7 UI would be identical on any size of device (going by this concept only of course), it actually feels to me like from the very start, Microsoft have designed this to be scalable.

Actually I think its fairer to say that the phones with WP7 are actually shrunken versions of any WP7 tablet.

New Dark Void trailer kills robots by land and sky

Jan 12th 2010 5:21PM (Joystiq)
When I played the demo, it seemed like every model in the level had been shrunk about 3 times smaller than the controls would favour. Even then, the level was TINY!

Far too late now, but they should have scaled the models up a lot, made everything really big and extreme, which would have made the environments look a hell of a lot less sparse and might have compensated for the incredibly annoying aiming aspect.

As it is, its really pretty poor, which is a shame, I guess I'll be buying the soundtrack on its own!
