Jun 16th 2010 7:27PM (Joystiq)Stereoscopic 3D coming to PS3 tomorrow
Jun 9th 2010 6:50PM (Joystiq)An extra $50 per year for 3D hell yea. I understand if you don't care about 3D but bottom line if you're making a 4 digit investment in a high-end electronic item, might as well spend the extra 6 months (either waiting or saving) to get all the bells and whistles.
If you can save $1000 for anything (which is the standard cost of most 40" plus HDTV's anyways) the time/money equation will play out to where you can wait for 3D or internet or whatever. Just make sure you get whatever it is YOU want for your money. Cause the re-sell value will be shit, it's all about if the item makes you happy, and if it's what YOU want at the end of the day.
Don't let the companies bully you into getting something you don't want. There are still PS2 games I play now, cause I couldn't afford to get them when I was younger, and I'm very pleased that I get to experience them now than not at all. There is no need to be an early adopter unless you really want to, and if you can great, if you can't wait, but at the end of the day all of this stuff is for your own PERSONAL enjoyment, so do what you gotta do, and don't hate on those who did what they did.
Wow, that didn't make a lick of sense.
Video Games May Reduce Crime Rate
May 28th 2010 3:03PM (Asylum)Historically the opposite is actually true - Crime rates tend to dip or even out during recessions.
Education and access to better medical care probably reduces crime over the long run as well as the controversial link of abortion to reduced crime rates(babies not being born into terrible socio-economic conditions don't grow up to be criminals).
Sex - Yes if all these supposed "angry young people" aren't "doin it" then they probably aren't out drinking or doing illicit drugs late into the evening hoping to get some since they are quite satisfied ogling Ryu's chest or Chun-Li's thighs.
One one more thing
The Internet - Everyone's connected so you can steal music and movies instead of jewels.
