PSN shooter has funny name, scrolls sideways

Sep 9th 2008 10:17AM (Joystiq)
Play-asia came up with the concept for the game but SideQuest Studios is the company that is actually developing the game. eastasiasoft is the publisher.

Sidequest is based out of Cincinnati, OH.

Pretty stange partnership all around.

Rumor: Guitar Hero World Tour full set list

Jul 24th 2008 9:29AM (Joystiq)
Hot for Teacher has been confirmed since Neversoft devs actually played the song in GH:WT on stage. Garnett Lee also confirmed Rebel Yell on the 1Up Yours Podcast so this list at least has some credibility.

Mario Kart Wii features text chat; still no voice support

Feb 27th 2008 9:57AM (Joystiq)
This issue is not a "Nintendo" issue, it is a NOJ issue. People seem to forget that nearly all of Nintendo's flagship franchise games are made in Japan. A place where the Xbox 360 with its newfangled voice chat abilities has almost no marketshare. A place where online gaming does not hold the appeal that it does in America and presumably the EU.

As long as Nintendo's core games are made in Japan, by Japanese developers, we are going to see the same issues over and over again. Overall, they don't see online gaming as the holy grail that America thinks it is.

New Wii UPC linked to Play N' Learn product [update]

Oct 8th 2007 1:17PM (Joystiq)
First off, this is pretty old news. Second, the prices listed in this article are Canadian dollars. Third, the current price of the Wii in Canada is $289.99. This this new SKU is a price increase of 1 cent. Obviously this isn't a Wii with a new pack-in game or with the zapper. It is probably the Wii with the new Wiimote jackets included.

OK, so we get Thurman Thomas, Andre Reed, and Steve Tasker from the Bills circa 90-94 but no Jim Kelley or Bruce Smith?! Boo!

How do you decide what games to buy?

Mar 16th 2007 3:15PM (Joystiq)
Price, plain and simple. I won't hesistate to buy an iffy game for $10 and a mediocre game for $20. I just recently picked up Killer 7 for $8 used at EB because it finally hit the magic pricepoint for me.

After playing through the first 2 chapters, I realize I would have paid $20 for it!

Stuntman: Ignition - like Burnout on steroids

Mar 2nd 2007 10:59AM (Joystiq)
If they toned down the insanely hard difficulty of the first Stuntman game, then this game will be a lot of fun. Stuntman suffered from requiring you to be way too precise.

Ring of Death: An Xbox 360 story -- Part 3

I don't understand how a process that takes almost a month to complete is considered "painless."

Joystiq hands-on: Mario Party 8 (Wii)

Jan 26th 2007 1:56PM (Joystiq)
MP 8 has been delayed until Q2 so hopefully they are adding an online component. The MP games are a blast to play with 4 people, and I won't hesistate to buy this if it is playable online, and I'll urge my in-laws to buy it if it isn't ;)
