Meh. Thought it was kinda weaksauce to be honest, especially having just come from playing MW2...
Progression/unlock felt overly slow (played for an hour and a half or more and only managed to buy 2 shoulder pads. didn't gain a single level...); controls didn't feel properly balanced (seemed alternately too jumpy and too clunky, depending on the situation/weapon); weapons felt underpowered and overpowered at the same time (don't ask me to explain that one :P); the ability to choose your "Loadout" didn't really add much (am I missing something? are there weapon unlocks you can use to customize your Loadout...? or it it really just choosing your special "power" masquerading as a Loadout?).
I'm not really ripping on the game; I get that it's the Halo: Reach BETA. For a game that was described to me as being a MW2 in the Halo universe, it seemed pretty lacking.
Plus, no standard Halo control scheme? Huh? Seriously? There are a bunch of different customizable control schemes, why the 'eff wouldn't you make one of them the standard halo controls?

Totally off topic, but I find it hilarious that you have a giant birth-control ad on the front page... you, uh, do know this is a video game blog, right...? not exactly the right demographic audience for The NuvaRing... :P

wai-wai-wait.... I haven't popped my copy of ME2 in yet, so someone please fill me in, here... they want us to pay $7 for a character that should have been in the game int he first place, but was stripped out to try to squeeze a few extra dollars out of people...? is that right? there's even an existing space in the character menu, just waiting for me to plop down my $7...?
if that's the case, that's pretty 'effing weak...
