If the Chozo made arcade cabinets, they would look like this

Dec 4th 2007 1:28PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
Um, if the Chozo made an arcade cabinet, they'd shape it like a Chozo, standing. Where it's face goes would instead be a monitor, and it's outstretched palms would be the P1 and P2 controls. The coinslot would be in it's solar plexus so that any attempt to force the below coin chest open would be a nasty sight indeed.

That's what I expected to see when I clicked on this in my RSS reader. (but this is nice too)

An open source internet stupidity filter

I'm concerned with something like this being used as a censorship engine by flagging unpopular opinions as stupidity. afsjiaostnoruighoeigigjirgjoijoitae.

Aerosmith, Disturbed, and others make it into Guitar Hero III

Let's hope Nintendo learns a lesson on music licensing from this.

Better yet, let's just hope Nintendo makes it a point to add international distribution to any contract for the music games they publish in Japan, so we can have American versions of games like Donkey Konga without the bad libraries.

The Smash Bros. MEGATON that is a surprise to nobody: Sonic confirmed

Oct 10th 2007 10:40AM (Joystiq Nintendo)
Um, that voice for Sonic. That's not the Sonic voice I'm familiar with. I haven't watched 4Kids' dub of Sonic X, but I've heard a lot of bellyaching about SEGA's decision to fire the original voice actors for the games and replace them with the actors that 4K cast.

So, is this the 4Kids voice of Sonic? If so, this would be quite the BAD thing for Sonic fans. There's now an organized boycott over any US version of Sonic games that use the 4Kids voices. Would Smash Bros Brawl be subject to the boycott too?

DOJ: No legislation for Network Neutrality

Sep 8th 2007 2:58PM (Download Squad)
I'm against regulation too. But not the kind of regulation that you put it.

Without Net Neutrality, we're all going to be regulated by the telecoms. They'll be able to regulate what sites we go to, where we get our music, what games we play, and all kinds of stuff.

They'll be able to regulate our entire internet experience. And there's no guarantee that someone who's been blocked off completely from the userbase of a major broadband ISP can simply pay their way back to merely the slow lane.

If we have to choose between a balanced regulation imposed by a democratically elected government and an excessive string of regulations that only benefit major corporations and politically correct blogs, I'd pick the government regulation in a heartbeat.

New Smash Bros. trailer reveals return of Fox

When I looked at this in my RSS reader, it was horrendously out of sync.

Quickhits: Bond 22 Pushed Back, Landis Directing Jackson Comeback Video and Hebrew Hammer vs. Mel Gibson

Says Kesselman, "I think if Mel wants to truly extend an olive branch to the Jewish Community as a whole, his on-screen death would go a long way in accomplishing that goal." Hmm, I guess that's one way to look at it.

Um, perhaps for the non-anti-semites. But for the real anti-semites, this could be a bit threatening. I'd rather see the fictionalized Mel live long enough to see the error of his ways.

Federal judge caught playing solitaire during a trial

Jun 9th 2006 12:58PM (Joystiq)
It's sad that they can get away with subverting state constitutions, overturning laws that the people themselves voted on because they don't like it. But a judge gets caught playing solitaire during a trial and NOW it's trouble!?
