Surprise! Fable 2 DLC likely in the works

Oct 7th 2008 7:17PM (Joystiq Xbox)
Just release the game. I'm so sick of this hype.

I also can't understand why someone would preorder the CE when you don't even know if the game is any dang good.

BioShock will splash onto the PS3 [update 2]

May 22nd 2008 12:43PM (Joystiq Xbox)
I really don't care one way or the other if games are exclusive.

BTW, I've been thinking of getting a PS3 for the Blu-ray player. Any good PS3 exclusive games around? Anyone care to chime in?

To me? Looks kind of slow and clunky.

More assassinating Assassin's Creed planned

Apr 25th 2008 2:30PM (Joystiq Xbox)
AC was just plain boring. I did two of the assassinations and just gave it up. The same things happen over and over, even within the first few hours playing it. I thought the combat system was interesting, but even the thrill of the active/non-active modes got boring when you just do the same stuff over and over.

No items to discover, no tidbits to better yourself in any way. Beautiful graphically at first, but skin deep. You can barely interact with the environment other than climbing it.

Also, the constant beeping noise when the guards are aware of you gets extremely annoying. And the modern day stuff was so boring it's hard to believe it was executed and put into a game that was commercially marketed.

PSP Fanboy review: Crash of the Titans

Oct 25th 2007 12:49PM (Joystiq Playstation)
I'm tired of platformers, especially for the PSP.

I was loving Daxter until the part where there's a time limit and you have to zoom around in the hovercraft. Just plain frustrating. The PSP controls suck for that kind of game.

Chatpad and Halo 3 accessories arrive next week

Aug 31st 2007 1:05PM (Joystiq Xbox)
Anyone know if this chatpad can be used to enter names of game saves, or other non-chat use?

I would guess that it does, but I'd like to know for sure. Thanks.

BioShock is on an impressive 100 streak

Aug 16th 2007 9:01PM (Joystiq Xbox)
I was very impressed with the demo, and I'm not a FPS fan.

Problem with them for me is they get boring after a few hours... Seems like after a couple hours, you just repeat what you've been doing over and over.

But this one played really nicely. Great style, sound, etc. I'm on the fence, and will probably buy it off ebay in a few months.

Micromart won't repair three red light 360s

Jun 28th 2007 4:20PM (Joystiq Xbox)
I've had mine since march of 06 and have not had a problem other than 2 or 3 freezes. On the other hand, I don't play for more than a couple hours at a time, and have a very well ventilated (front and back), clean spot for it. And I've got it horizontal, too.

Blue Dragon officially lands on August 28

Jun 28th 2007 11:56AM (Joystiq Xbox)
I appreciate that it's colorful, but I just can't get into the bobble-headed childishness of it. I love quirky games, but the thought of playing a team of rag-tag early teens (and I'm betting there's squeaky voices aplenty) just doesn't interest me.

I really do wish games would get more away from the gritty drab browns and grays, though. This looks like it will be interesting to look at at least.

IGN UK rates Overlord; Verdict: Impressive

Jun 14th 2007 6:23PM (Joystiq Xbox)
I was not a fan of the demo at all.

First of all, the creature guiding you through the tutorial was extremely annoying. OK, maybe he goes away after a little while. But the whole thing was dripping with a cutesy, comedy vibe that I just didn't like, and I'm sure was there to make the 'evil' you do more acceptable to moms and such. The scarecrow is another example of the attempt at humor I found grating.

Also, though the animations of the minions were fluid, a lot of what they did happened so fast, that it just looked like a swarm of blurry bees plowing through the pumpkin field, for instance. I also just didn't like the 'sweeping' control. Also, it felt like it's just a maze you're going through... very little choice in where you could walk, even though you're like seven feet tall and the 'hills' blocking your path are around 2 feet.

Maybe I'm in the minority, but I deleted it after trying it a couple times.
