Great to hear. I was hoping they'd fix this at some point, due to the simple logic that they put the Violet Drake via the Long Strange Trip achievement in for the purpose of casuals (which are now basically any non super hardcore players) to get a 310% mount. I'm not certain exactly where or when, but I recall a blue post forever back to that effect.

I just enjoyed doing the holidays with no intent on the meta, but when I realized that I'd finally be able to get my hands on a Proto (because, honestly, plain drakes just don't cut it), and knuckled down and did even the holidays I hated (Hallow's End, I'm looking at you).

I should be getting 2 Violet's along with the Master Riding come Hallow's End, assuming that the Hallowed Helm doesn't evade me this year.

There is an option to turn of system sounds, including the "X came online" one.

I believe you would no longer have the awesome Achievement Unlocked sound though. It's under My Xbox > System Settings > Audio > Sound Effects

Overall, I am not too impressed with NXE. They said the blade system was complicated, but they took the blade system, then replicated the same thing into Video and Game Marketplace, then stacked them.

The party option I have sent several emails to Microsoft since day one requesting that feature, so it is nice to have. I would also like to have a sort of clan option, so when you come online, you immediately join a chat with a preselected set of people. It is also nice that it shows the Buddy Icons of everyone in your party at the top right of the Dashboard (assuming you know their icons). Also, in game, when you pull up the Party in the Guide, you can just press Y to switch between Party Channel and Game Channel. You can also send a Party Invite to the entire Party (great for Halo or CoD).

Installing game content it great as well. It seems faster than the PS3's option, but I only did that with Uncharted and Soul Calibur 4. I installed Call of Duty: World at War and it took maybe 20-25 minutes, whereas those games took well over an hour. Load times on this game are greatly improved.

I dislike the looks of the new Guide that pops up when pressing the guide button. It looks like an awkward widget and I have yet to learn if you can choose a different color for the Guide (you could before).

Also, I know it is brand new, so this will obviously get better, but a lot of the Game Info features such as the Downloads option or the Desription or Details panes spend forever loading and show that new Xbox loading icon for a bit, and then usually time out and give an error that the feature is not available.

I have the AppleCare plan with my MacBook Pro and it has already paid for itself. I do have the bonus of being a student which drops the cost for it drastically from $350 (yeah, I shuddered when they told me the cost) to $240 (still... ouch, but much more palatable).

I've had my MacBook Pro for 11 months now, and I am on my second power adapter (newer, smaller revision) and my second battery. I am about to get my SuperDrive replaced (I told the genius it was a tad noisy, and he marked me down for a replacement).

I've yet to have a warranty that truly justifies itself to the degree that AppleCare has. I'm not even a third the way through the warranty period and it's already been worth it to me.

The Defcon Globe screensaver is totally worth checking out... it's easily one of the top 5 screensavers for OsX.

Yeah, it's a Cisco tone.

I used the tone for a couple of years on my Nokia 6260, then on my LG vx9800 and finally on my iPhone for the last few months.

I also have the alternate cisco tone from 24 on there, which is a great alarm.

People get excited whenever they hear that ringtone. At one point 4 other people I know had it on their phones as well (back when it was easier to just set a .mid as a ringtone)

I think anyone who can, should sue over that. That wasn't an homage or flattering, that truly was a case of blatant plagiarism. The song was disgustingly terrible and at points (there were several dozen) I question why anyone would listen to it, and yeah, it was because of video.

On top of that, sampling beethoven for the bulk of the song? I mean really... can the "artist" go any lower???

I'm proud that Square took them to court, and even happier that they won.

Artistic expression is acceptable when it's artistic, that music video is just wrong.

This game is classic, I have been begging for a DS version for a while, I played PS1 remake a few times, and it is easily my favorite installment in the FF series.

I'm not sure how you guys are getting this glitch. I keep my 70+gb iTunes library on a 160gb WD Passport that I usually carry around with my Macbook Pro. The iPhone has it's own set of smart playlists that sync to it, and yes, it does autosync on connect.

If my hard drive is disconnect when I try to sync, it just gives me an error message saying it can't find the specified files, but it removes nothing. I have been constantly getting new phone numbers sync I switched from Verizon to AT&T now, and every connect, iPhoto pops up asking if I would like to "import x images" and another prompt pops up detailing that I have x amount of new contacts and if I would like update my address book.

Are you fellows that are having issues using windows based PCs or Macs?

I have yet to have any odd glitches, I just accidentally call people when I am updating my address book at times.
