Rumor: Sony shutting down SOCOM dev Zipper Interactive
Mar 23rd 2012 11:03PM (Joystiq)Unit 13 I haven't played yet, but I hope Sony doesn't drop them just yet, I want to see them focus on MAG and Vita titles. Give up on Socom for the time being, at least until they can bring it back to its prime.
To this day I have yet to see any shooter bar battlefield give me the kind of fun I've had with MAG. Lets not ruin the conversation by bringing up CoD games -_-
Foosball 2012 spinning out on PS3, Vita
Mar 22nd 2012 7:37PM (Joystiq)The initial point was pretty silly anyway :/ I would have thought in most cases it would be cheaper to do the physical thing then buy the game of it.
Guess what, you could probably find more entertainment by going outside into the open fresh air and making real friends too rather than buying an expensive games console or PC and trying to make friends virtually or play virtual games.
Just buy the game if you have a PS3 and enjoy it -_- If you don't, tough. No one is forcing you to buy it

GAME enters administration, delisted from stock exchange
Mar 21st 2012 11:38AM (Joystiq)Amazon does better bundles and cheaper prices, Amazon also saves me time having to wait for pre-orders, so what if I don't get the game on the VERY night it launches, I still get it the following morning :/
GAME also has FAAAARRRRR too many stores, to the point it was getting ridiculous, over here on Croydon high street, excluding Gamestations (of which there were 3 at one point as well), GAME had 1 in the whitgift centre, one just outside the whitgift centre and another franchised but still GAME store within debenhams just opposite whitgift centre :/ How many of the same store do you need? Why not just have one big store in different places. So its no wonder they had so many overhead costs, their business model made no sense whatsoever. GAME has more stores in one town then Tescos has in several :/ And last time I checked food was more important than games.
GAME also seems to want to avoid the digital world, there is nothing wrong with building your business in such a way that it seamlessly integrates both retail outlets with online stores, nor has GAME made any real promotional efforts to attract gamers to its brand, none that I can remember anyway. And I'm talking competitions, or game tournaments, heck, why not host it's own awards ceremonies or have a youtube channel for trailers, battles, etc. None, nothing whatsoever, so why should anyone care?
Next is the fact they 'claim' that they prefer to provide more 1 to 1 customer service then an online store does, but yet I feel more a happy customer on Amazon than I do walking into a GAME store, people in there are always grumpy, distracted or sometimes even quick to rip you off. I once brought back 2 games I had only recently bought for £30 each after less than 2 weeks or so and one guy told me they were only worth £20 for the both of them. WHAT! £10 each?? Depreciation or what! Luckily I went to gamestation (when it wasn't owned by GAME) and traded them in for £25 each.
My opinion of GAME has always been a negative one.I'm not glad they are at this point, but I can safely say that I saw it coming.
