Mage Spell Calculator shows numbers behind the casting

Jun 18th 2007 3:05PM (WoW)
Is this similar to how Theory Craft works? Cause it sounds basically the same except TC is in-game, takes into account the targets armor and resistances, and all your gear automatically... and you can actually swap out gear for other items to see what you will be doing with other sets of gear :)

Peek inside the World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade - Collector's Edition box

The bestbuy near where I live is said to have some coming in for the launch, so hopefully I can grab a collector's edition, if not though I'll be happy to grab the retail version too.

Forgot to mention the main reason he left the company was of the overtime that wasn't paid for on his part and his fellow co-workers part.

EA's admirable beginnings remembered

Aug 29th 2006 1:29AM (Joystiq)
My instructor at my college worked for EA for 8 years. Mostly on NBA live, and Need for Speed. You can thank him personally for the intro video on Need for Speed 2: Hot Pursuit. He basically summed his experience up with his first 3 years being great, then a slow degradation leading to himself and most of his co-workers quiting to form other companys.

The only reason some none-safe franchise games come from EA is luck. The whole SSX idea was from a friend of the CEO at the time, who loved snowboarding with the CEO on his free time from the EA compound. Other than that EA focuses on cookie cutter ideas and buys out any company they think has a good idea. Yes this is a great business move on their part, and will insure they are around just as long as companies like Microsoft... but it doesn't make it easier to suck down the pill that is EA.

Crysis multiplayer to feature 10-hour matches, multiple day/night cycles

Aug 22nd 2006 7:08PM (Joystiq)
Doesn't Chrome Hounds have taht crazy mode online where it lasts months etc?

I've played way past 10 hours before... damn WoW.. lol. It's with other games also, such as staying up late with friends in a LAN or just a few friends beating halo etc...

If you started playing one night at around 4pm you'd go 'till 2am.. I bet more than a few people have done this before in many games.

I dont understand why they took the time to add support for itunes... I mean, shouldn't they focus on less down time and not screwing up the patches all the time?

PlayStation 3: T-minus 3 months, not started manufacturing

Aug 22nd 2006 7:07AM (Engadget)
@ caligo:

Yes, but this isn't some device that is going to be replaced in 5-7 months... it's going to be around for 6 years or more.. having a surplus of units during it's launch isn't going to hurt anyone considering they are ALL going to sell... all of them. If you have more units out during this holiday then you cut back on other people profiting off your products via ebay (which is a lost customer since all profits made go to that greedy F***).
