I... have a mouse? Perhaps I sit too close to my computer while playing games, but I can't see how this would be comfortable or desirable.

I've also had this happen with lightning spells (my toon turned into a bad lightning desktop wallpaper) and frost spells (white, white, white, with a slight blue tinge).

Normally only while playing computer games; I do that more often than Wii gaming, actually.

They made that Leisure Suit Larry? 'twas not an adventure game, was just mind numbing mini-game after another.

While it might not please your aesthetic principles, I'd venture to say it's not crappy--just not your thing. Stylized games are something I personally welcome as I grow rather weary of more realistic approaches that end up making me demand better 'acting,' which I rarely get (in facial expressions, voice acting, et cetera).

Thankfully it also releases on PC.

The Steampunk elements are primarily what intrigue me.
