I prefer the older kind like the Star Soldier series. Blazing Lazers being my all-time favorite. Ikaruga is close too.. But I'll take what I can get. Definitely need more of these on the PSN. :(

Sorry Metal Gear Online, but my XP is more important right now. XD

American PSN update for April 17th

Apr 18th 2008 2:28PM (Joystiq Playstation)
GT5 Prologue - half a game - at full retail price. I'd rather buy it in the store, IF I liked realistic driving simulators, which I don't. But even still, I'd rather have physical media which I can re-sell if I don't like it or stop playing it.

Warhawk update - great for people who have Warhawk. I'd consider buying Warhawk if it had a single-player campaign, but since the whole point of it is multiplayer-only, it's not for me. Sure, the addon is great for Warhawk fans.

USEAPQZ demo - sucks, I'm sorry, but it does. I'm grateful for that - saves me $60. Not that I'd have bought it to begin with, but now it's definite.

Rock Band content - yes, the songs that we would have got over the past two weeks like the 360 users did. What's revolutionary about that? Stay Alive is free, you're right. And if you read my post, I said that was good, and the only thing I was interested in. The other songs, I don't know or don't care about. Unlike most people, I don't buy EVERY Rock Band track just because it's there. I buy ones that I'm interested in playing.

If we had received all of this content divided over the past three weeks, you can bet your ass that many more people than just myself would be bitching about it. And in fact, I wasn't even bitching, I just said I was underwhelmed. I figured that for three weeks' worth of content, we'd get a new smaller PSN game, in the $10 range, maybe a demo of Viking or something,

Actually, there were some updates on Tuesday:

Lair update - wow, the game is playable now! Several months late.

Super Stardust HD Solo - worth the money, I bought it. I love it.

PSP owners have more reason to complain though. After all that time, we got only two videos - of a PS3 game. Wow.

Don't get me wrong, please. I'm not bitching about it. I just mentioned that I'm underwhelmed. If you're not, then it's because you are starved for Rock Band tracks, or you have and like Warhawk. There's nothing wrong with either view.

PowerUp Forever: more space, more shooting on PSN

Apr 17th 2008 4:08PM (Joystiq Playstation)
That's cool... I want some vertical-scrolling shooters, ASAP. The Wii is riddled with them on the VC, but nothing on PSN. :( Even just one.. Ikaruga would be awesome... Oh well, whatever, nevermind.

Nobody ever said there was going to be a big surprise today... Unless you have a source to back it up. Link me.

I'll grab Stay Alive for sure, especially since the price is perfect. Probably that's all, though. An underwhelming update after two weeks of nothing.. But I can deal. Good things come to those who wait... I hope.

Haze demo strikes PS Store in early May

I'd rather it be delayed and polished than rushed and immediately patched *cough*GT5Prologue*cough*.

Lair updates finally flying in -- will it change people's minds?

Apr 10th 2008 1:49PM (Joystiq Playstation)
Being a Wii owner for the first 14 months of my console experience of this generation means I've owned 55 Wii games, most of which sucked and had terrible controls, leading me to sell all but 20 of them. It also makes me think that Lair's current control scheme won't bother me, but now that the patch is likely coming to North America too (can't see why it wouldn't..), I've got fewer fears than I did five minutes ago. I think I'll check eBay right now.

Rumor: LittleBigPlanet in development for PSP

Apr 8th 2008 10:41AM (Joystiq Playstation)
That would be awesome! If this is true, and the game works hand-in-hand with the PS3 version, I'd probably buy both.

Win PSP accessories from Nuritech

I have a PSP-2000, and I make sweet, sweet love to it every other day, at least. We can always use more protection.
