Some Vista SP1 early adopters reporting problems, how about you?

Mar 19th 2008 2:53PM (Engadget)

PS3 to lead in market share with 44% by 2011 says analyst [update1]

Aug 16th 2006 2:46PM (Joystiq)
This might have already been said, but I only had a moment to comment.

I was under the impression (After looking at the console market history) that consoles generally only have a four or five year life span and then are replaced by the "next gen".

If that is the case, then these "ANALysts" are stating that the PS3 will beat the 360 when
1. The Next Xbox will be out
2. When the PS4 will be coming out.

For some reason I trust them about as much as I do magazine reviewers, movie critics, and pay per call psychics....

iPod-equipped teen struck by lightning

Jul 7th 2006 10:10AM (Engadget)
two points I found confusing
1. An ipod is relatively small, especially in comparison to a lawn mower, which, I have found, are general constructed of a metallic material

2. Why the hell are you mowing a lawn with a lightning storm approaching. I am assuming, of course, that the first bolt was not the one to strike him and that clouds did form to warn of the on-coming storm

This sounds more like a nominee for a Darwin award than a case of someone I should feel bad for

Didn't Bungie flaunt ths same "ai system" before halo 2 came out? I will be curious to see if it actually makes the final cut this time.

Oklahoma guv signs violent games bill into law

Jun 12th 2006 12:54PM (Joystiq)
I wonder if anyone ever considered that such bills might increase teh rate of software piracy.

For instance, take the following scenario.

Some under the age kid wants GTA 5(or whatever is next)

The retailer says, um, no, your too young

Under age kid goes home, finds that someone has uploaded an iso of the game to a website

Under age kid downloads iso and either plays in on his PC or mods his console so that the iso will work on it

Under age kid decides, you know that was easy and it was a hell of a lot cheaper. I might as well do that for all games

Rinse and repeat for all underage gamers
